Every week BBC stats show us to have the least possession by some distance
This week it has QPR 45% MK Dons 55%
I was there on Saturday. No way are these figures accurate
We were on top all game after only 5/10 minutes

I know tippy tappy round the back and hoof ball give 2 different results but...

There's lies, damm lies and then there's statistics. I never take stats on their own. They need context.

I was having this conversation with a friend via WhatsApp who was at the game......I kept posting the possession/attempts stats as per the beeb text and the reply I got back was "bollix" should be 70/30 at least, must be complied by someone whose not at the game.....

So yes take stats with a large rock of salt......

I wouldn't be surprised if the stats for the MKD match were actually accurate

Their back 4 seemed to pass back to their keeper whenever they got the ball - must've been over 20 back passes - and although that counts as possession it rapidly became very tedious to watch

Worst away team I've seen at LR this year, and indeed for a few seasons

Even their own fans decided to create their own entertainment.......

Really? First half they had 60% or more of the ball. Their keeper probably had more touches than anyone.

They built it up from the back. Plus their keeper probably had more touches of the ball ( from passes not shots) than any of our players

We had no sustained possession until after we scored

I think you have to string together more than two passes before it counts as possession and based on that I'm surprised we had as much as 45%. The typical action was 1) ponderous possession by MK eventually ended by a misplaced pass 2) a long punt by a QPR defender up to our non-existent target man and easily headed away 3) repeat. Of course, it's a nonsense stat as MK rarely looked even slightly threatening.

This, I could believe those possession stats given how much they knocked it around the back four.

The only stat that matters is goals scored, even the masters such as Barca and Bayern have lost matches with over 70% possession...
