BBC - Liverpool make bid for Lallana

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 'Weston Saint' over at the saintsweb board, who knows lallana's family appears to be suggesting that he is off. And probably Shaw too.

He says he doesn't know 100%, but the guy is usually spot on...

 

Yes well I heard a rumour from someone with contacts at the club that Poch is about to sign a 4 year deal because both Lallana and Shaw are staying. It's all hearsay.

Haha, stalemate! For what it's worth, i completely agree that it's all nonsense and hearsay. However Weston Saint is one of the most accurate posters over there, and definitely knows Lallana (or his family at least), so I thought I would share. Go and read his comments (or don't actually because they will only upset you.)

 

Lallana is by far the more likely to leave. People should come to terms with it now so they don't go bat **** crazy if it does happen.

 

I'd say it's more a case of when, to be honest. I've prepared myself to lose Lallana, Shaw and Pochettino - so I'm ready and waiting, in the hope of a surprise.

 

I'd be pretty disappointed if Lallana left. All this nonsense about Saints needing to "match his ambition" and the first chance he gets he's off. How can they match your ambition if you won't give them a chance? And furthermore, if you were the captain of a team that finished below your expectations, isn't some of the blame on you rather than the board?

 

This. I pray it wont happen but if it does we have a massive bank balance and still one hell of a squad,

 

Agree on this and I will be disappointed if anyone left after a great season. You understand it more if we had not improved on last season, but we made another leap forward. It's the perception that after a records point tally that we've hit our glass ceiling, not that we actually have. Another season and we come 8th again then fair enough on that opinion, but at least give it a go.

 

Has Lallana spoken out...if so, I've yet to read it. He has mentioned his ambitions, but has never come right out and said Saints won't match it. He may think it, but he has never officially said anything derogatory about Saints and I don't expect him to.

 

Interesting that the papers have stopped speculating about Shaw, just assuming that he is definitely bound for United. Lallana on the other hand, they still talk about Liverpool being keen to sign him, having made a bid, etc.
It's all speculation and I wonder what percentage of transfer gossip in the papers is actually proved correct?

 

Lallana may be too dear for Liverpool in the end...they seem to want him on the cheap (reportedly) because they need to spend more on defence. ManU can of course afford Shaw...will be interesting what happens when their new manager settles in. We should squeeze till the pips squeak (and have a good sell on clause).

 

That's why I said if he goes. Hopefully he decides to stay with Saints while on England duty. But doubt it with the amount of Liverpool players there.

This is what I'm thinking. No way are we accepting a £20m bid when we only get £15m of it. Liverpool could get someone as good for less if they look abroad.

 

£30m and he is gone.

 

Not sure anyone will pay that.
