The Championship? We fumbled that title into the bin in pretty terrible fashion.

Personally that comes in quite low on my 'give a ****' scale, but that may just be me.

Hmm is it right about Lallana buying a house in the New Forest?

As has been pointed out, he could have won the Championship or the JPT again. It's obviously not that big a deal but Pardew did win a trophy and I think that played a big part in creating a positive atmosphere after the years of struggle. As good as Adkins was, we didn't win anything with him in charge.

I'd also say that I'm not suggesting Pardew should have kept his job or that Adkins was a worse manager. I'm making the specific point that, all things considered, Pardew's first season here was pretty damn good.

Fair point Puck, particularly regarding the status/atmosphere. I still find him a loathsome man though, sorry.

Serious question coming up. When we brought Lovren for £8.5M it was considered a pretty big gamble, now with a very good season under his belt, just how much is considered a fair price, £18-20M?
All conjecture mind, as its probably made up......but Liverpool are at least now looking at a part of the team where they need to strengthen!

Pardew did okay, but he was always going to leave and would never get us playing 'the right way' as Nicola envisaged. He may have got us promoted and then left...better to have a manager with a proven track record who would stick with us. Of course, even Nicola wasn't expecting it to be in two straight years, which meant he had to move to next stage of the plan after giving Adkins a long contract. Always be grateful to AP for the JPT day out.

We helped AP get back on the radar, at that time, his next job could have seen him fall off the map completely. Hope the toon fans don't hold it against us too much! <laugh>

In reality he had a blinding first third of the season, injuries / illness hampered him in the middle third and the latter third he was about equal to Fonte. I think he is probably worth £12m - £15m in reality, probably closer to the bottom end of that estimate but I don't expect Saints to sell for less than £20m. I suspect if someone did offer £20m it would be accepted.

It is his organising and leadership, mentioned by Gary Neville, that we'd miss most. He's excellent in that way.

Lallana just finished a q&a session on twitter. Not surprisingly he ducked the obvious questions, restricting his answers to England related questions but talked about saints as his club and Mo Po as his manager which was promising I think!

Surprising that he would agree to do one at this time, considering the questions he would obviously get, and how scrutinised it'll be. Even silence will be interpreted all sorts of different ways by journalists and twats who fancy themselves as journalists.
