  1. I'm secretly hoping that we get Llallana. He's a cracking player.

We won't sell to Spurs. Period. Or are you an Arsenal fan? I can't tell.

The clue might be in the name I think...

  4. I think he was trying to cut me with his rapier wit.

Seriously, though, I hope you don't sell any more players, as it could push your club back towards relegation. I'd much rather clubs like Saints in the Prem, than Stoke or WHU.

All I'm saying is, if you do sell, let us have Llallana and Rodriguez, not the Mousers.

Everything depends on whether our new board are true to their word, or whether their sentiments are just a smokescreen. So far, things don't look too bad, only the manager, who they couldn't prevent leaving, and Rickie, who was "a special case" in their words, have gone. So we shall see...

Football fans are a fickle bunch. I remember a few years ago, Lallana was a bit of a diver with questions around his ability to cut it in the Prem. Then he was our best player and Mr Southampton. Now he's a dick and we want rid.

I'm not passing judgement until something happens for sure.

Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle for Emre Caan from Bayern laverkusen. Attacking midfielder for 10m. Could this see th end of their interest in Lallana?

He's not an attacking midfielder. He'll be an extra option in the holding mid position, possibly signalling an end for Lucas. If they get Shaqiri, that's when I'll start hoping they're no longer after Adam.

Agree with this. I like the way the Liverpool fans reacted when Suarez wanted a move last year. They clapped and supported him instead of bitching and moaning etc. Waddya know? He stayed and had the season of his life. I thought our fans were better than this turncoat bollocks. Adam is a great lad and a hell of a player. It has been an absolute honour to watch him play for the past 5+ seasons. I'll always like him. His agent can feck off though.

Saw him wearing the number 10 shirt and celebrating a goal so automatically assumed he was an attacking midfielder/ no.10. With that level of assumption and poor research I am off to get a job with the Mirror or Mail......

There aren't that many slagging off Adam. Some, including me are speculating and expressing a disappoint at what MAY be happening.

Why do you hate his agent and do you not think he is representing Adam's view?

What about the pressure of Hodgson's decree that all the squad should sort out their transfers before they were to leave for Miami? Great for enabling players to concentrate on the World Cup, but also obviously a green light with some clout for players, if wanted by others clubs to sort out a move. What is good for England, certainly isn't good for managerless Saints, Roy. I doubt Lallana is giving a move much thought now, and surely Hodgson on reflection accepts Southampton FC without a current manager wasn't going to suddenly sell a prized asset, due to a situation he (RH) helped create.

I really don't think that was his decree at all. He said he didn't want agents and other hangers-on around the training ground during the tournament, which is fair enough.

Quite right. Agents have no business anywhere near a World Cup squad in training. I'd have someone paid to shoot the ****ers on sight if I was Roy.

My advice would be to enjoy the world cup and forget about transfer gossip for a while.

The fickleness of fans will also work in Lallana's favor should he stay. A few good performances and they will be cheering him again.

That's what happened at Liverpool. I don't think it was the fan reception that made Suarez play well. I think that Suarez-- for all his other faults-- is quite driven to win and it doesn't bother him being viewed as a villain. So his performances and effort on the pitch were unaffected by the transfer saga and those performances eventually won the fans back to his side.

I think that's absolutely correct on both fronts. Suarez is the Honey Badger of footballers. He just don't give a ****.
