I must admit to hoping for Mansell that year too. If ever 'bad luck' played a part in a title fight, 1986 saw it almost as much as 1982.

But that was still a while before I'd met him properly. He represented our country well; but on a personal level, Sir Frank Williams' comment sums him up rather well…

I reckon Mansell has crossed you at some point Cosi. Maybe he got in with a lady that you were eyeing up before you got the chance to. That's the real reason eh? Admit it!
