Pep will be found out in the Champions league, if a anti football team like Chav FC can score 2 goals, every other team will score a hat full.

Thing is HRH, we kept them out for such long periods also. Cech should have gotten to Riberys goal really.
Not alot of teams are going to be able to do that.
Despite what you think of Chelsea, not many teams can pull of defensive displays like ours, especially with Jose in charge, his teams are always solid at the back.
The other thing is, "Anti football?" under Jose we put 4 past Barca at the Bridge, because like always under Jose, the team is devastating on the Counter, thats how he rolls.
Makes us .....interesting....to watch in big games against teams like Bayern and Barca....but it yields results, as jose's trophy haul will attest.

Fritz were the better team and you for long periods parked the bus, but did well on the counter, v UTD you parked the bus and did well to stop UTD scoring.
Jose plays boring football in the main, you dont have the squad of a few years ago and you dont have the heavy firepower of old, Jose will stick to playing anti football.

He needs a proper defensive midfielder, someone for that Makalele role of old.
Ramires is the new Lampard, we need a new Makalele, and I dont think that person will be Mikel.
Also, we need a striker atm, but hopefully Torres can hold the fort until Lukaku matures.

But then to be fair Hazard should never have been given the space and time needed to score the goal he did. That was far worse defending than Cech's slip for Ribery.

This is true. There's always a part of me that wishes SAF had been willing to play that defensively in games. Leverhusen in 02, Madrid in 03, Porto in 04, Milan in 07, Madrid in 13 - we could in theory have gotten through all those ties if we'd just shut up shop and put ten men behind the ball after we'd gotten our noses in front, or when under sustained pressure from the opposition.

But then again we might still have lost, and to be fair I'd rather have us playing the kind of football we did in those matches rather than playing six at the back and still ending up losing the game when the opposition finally find a gap. And I reckon that sensational comebacks like Turin and the Nou Camp in 99 would be much harder to pull off if we built our side on that sort of a negative defensive response.

Out of interest, have Chelsea ever pulled off a major comeback in the middle of a European game since Mourinho's first spell?

    Good point <ok>

Also the Napoli one in the same season, again by RDM, was a good comeback. Shame he was sacked before he got the chance to show what he could do in a full campaign - that decision still makes **** all sense to me.

Ah thought you meant in the same game <ok>

Don't think Robbie was ever wanted tbh, should've called time on him straight away to save the embarassment and went for Mourinho there and then.

No, I did mean in the same game. Just thought Napoli was also deserving of a mention given you ****ed you were after the first leg, and the fact it was also under RDM.

You reckon Abramovich wanted to sack him in summer 2012 but was wary of ditching the man who finally delivered the trophy he wanted? Would Mourinho have been willing to come back in 2012 before Real had finally had enough of him?

Chelsea Pensioner about Bayern European Champions last year's finalists, oh and they just also beat Chelsea albeit on penos
    <doh>

Yep, Bayern's CL win is nothing compared to Chelsea's Europy League win.

I never get these fear comments, what is there to fear that we might lose a game of football or not be the best for once? People on here talk about it as if it has a real affect on life.

Another chav making a new account<doh>

Fear from Man U fans<laugh> Chelsea are so great they came third in the league and finished behind United by a mere 14 points and went out of the champions league before any other defending champion, You're only as good as your last season. I am sure United are crapping themselves<whistle>

It stinks more of you chavs hoping that Fergie having left gives you a chance<ok>

You chavs are funny. Like a hobo that's gone and found a Rolex watch. Watch you don't take your eye out with one of those little plastic flags. Wear goggles

yep. Another plastic chav who has to reregister under another name to come here..<laugh>

What the Chavs do not understand is that the Chavs were more desperate to win a meaningless trophy than Bayern. They went for it like it was a CL final and still could not beat a team that outpassed them easily. To even think that no other English team will have competed with them on a one off basis is nonsense. But then this is not surprising coming from a plastic Chav. Their own manager Jose "Chelsea fans are soft" Mourinho himself does not expect a lot from the Chav fan <ok>
