With every day that passes its becomming clearer and clearer that this parasite bates does not want us to go up or down , we were are now in mid table which is exactly were he wants us to be, if we are promoted to the premiership then clarity on who exactly owns us will have to come to light, the way thing are now he still has a decent revenue to support his and his families monaco life style, grayson had got us in the position he wanted but the rock he perished on was asking for some pf the Howson fund, mcarthy and warnock are promotion managers which bates does not want (the way he dismissed mcarthy yesterday was disgusting ), it also explains why he dithered and made the odd desicion to give redfearn four games that just prolonged and galvanised our mid table position, we will end up with a donkey like clarke who will keep us mid table this season and next to ensure more revenue fo this parasite and at the same time keep us away from the dreaded option for bates which is the premiership.

no not hiding under a rock mark if you bother to read and listen to the news there is confusion over companies in the cayman islands and the carabein, and I am using logic, why else is he NOT hiring one of two managers who could get us up ?? blimey have we unearthed two bates fans ?

I've just read on another site that this is our final year of conditions from when we went into administration, which states that if we return to the premiership within 10 years we are obligated to make paymets to our former creditors. Which makes me think that Grayson might have been sacked because he was exceeding expectations and threatening the club with promotion ! <doh>

If we go up & it's big if, Master Bates will have to fork out at least £60-70m to get a decent team. He is making good profit now & will not be interested in spending. We have o wait for him to die & maybe his sons have more decency than their father.

support is growing for my theory maybe i may have his motives not exactly right but we have a BIG problem here guys ,the T--T wants us to stay put

There's no confusion. Bates owns us, and I seem to remember telling you this before.

Promotion therefore wouldn't require any more transparency than we already have. And I agree with Whitejock that he wouldn't want to lost the 40m of TV money you get from the Premiership, plus the juicy parachute payments when we'd get relegated the season after. He'd love all the media exposure as well, giving him the ultimate platform to spout **** about anything and everything.

However, I think his priorities lie mainly with the property development at Elland Road and I think he's certainly having a laugh at our expense after all his years of holding a grudge against Leeds fans. He does want promotion, but he's not too fussed about us getting it immediately.

This has been discussed on here before. And I recall a figure of £11m being attributed to our payout obligations (may have been lower, but I can't recall). I still don't understand the logic of wanting to avoid a further £30-40m of income. Yes, it may cost a fortune to build a team to stay in the PL, however Papa doesn't HAVE to spend it. He can trouser £40m, plus the parachute payments that must be a similar amount, and all without spending a penny. I simply cannot understand why he would not want promotion, and no-one has provided a sound, evidential theory to support this. That is my position, and I remain open-minded.

2 final points:

1. Has it occurred to you that perhaps some of the big names just don't want to come to ER, & may have already been approached? Bates' dis of MM may simply be his way of deflecting a knockback.
2. I am most certainly not a Bates lover, and seriously resent you saying that. Put it this way, you would only say it once to me in a pub. Be grateful for your anonimity.

The 30 or 40 million being bandied about is additional revenue on reaching the premiership but not profit. Why do you think the majority of premiership clubs continue to lose money year after year?
The bulk or all of this additional revenue would have to be reinvested in paying something close to premiership wages. Bates is likely making as much now, or even more than if we were promoted. It's not going to happen anyway

We pay about 10m on wages now. Bates would double that at the very, very most, and that would still leave him with a minimum of 30m TV money left over, as well as 15m from parachute payments in the event that we were relegated, and of course the additional revenue from ticket and merchandise sales that our promotion would bring.

Again, I don't think the point about attention and exposure should be ignored either.

He's a ****, but he's a **** who wants Bates United, the club he's made in his image, to be at the top level. Between now and then, his task is to rid the club of everything 'Leeds' in the process, and even convert our former legends and icons to his new order.

As Iqbal says, the additional wage costs would only dent his additional income to the tune of £10m or so. As for the parachute payments, it seems that these are currently worth £12m a year for a four year period. Certainly not to be sniffed at.

You're forgetting all players signed in premiership are on three or four year contracts. That's what the parachute payments are to cover, the paying os players wages in the event of relegation. If the Premiership is so profitable, why are the wigans, boltons and evertons so deep in debt and they've been there for years

Good point, Eire, but only applies if we keep the players. Can you see Bates sanctioning that? If he's in any way clever, he'll also have a relegation clause in their contracts that severely slashes their wages when they go back down to the Championship. As for all the clubs with debts, I think there's an element of 'chasing the dream' involved. In order to secure the services of a player that's even half good, they have to pay over the odds, or someone else will sign them up. Not to mention the agent fees, which seem to grow as each season passes.

From an out siders veiw this is looking very strange !
When he sacked Grayson, who hadn't done a terrible job, you must surely have a plan as to who is going to take over ?
Its looking like this season is going to be a right off soon, and that could spell trouble with players leaving in the summer ?
Feel for the supporters, it looks amess at the moment !
