Had a can of coke taken off me at OT, cans aren't allowed in the ground. Didn't know that at the time.

It's even from the club shop. Once the guy was just checking in case I'd wrote something like "Ashley Out" onto it (think it might have been the Arsenal game just after we sold Carroll) and I had to talk my way out of it another time. Bastards.

There's a bloke in the gallowgate near the bottom with a France flag, dont know if he still dresses up in a striped shirt with a beret or not <laugh>...

Thats better. In fairness 'the other guy' just said its the police in reference to the fact everyones knocking the stewards when most of the video is police related, he wasn't making light of anything.

In my case I fail to see an assault, I see stewards attempting to remove someone which is entirely allowed, read the back of your ticket/season ticket renewal etc for details. We don't know the circumstances because the video starts too late, so 'him going for a fit young lad' is irrelevant given we don't know what the ejectee did. As my post says, I'm neither defending nor condemning either side, and the comments of anyone on Youtube, which is about as reliable as Wikipedia, won't change that. It'll be investigated at some point, with better evidence than some mancs going 'this'll be on Youtube!' and action will be taken as necessary.

Is it a big flag? We got them given out two seasons ago so they can't be against the rules, if its a big bugger though I'd be unimpressed if I was sat behind you...

Flagpoles can be used as an offensive weapon. When we were handing out those little free flags there was understandably a lot of confusion! "Here you go, now give it back, it's a lethal weapon." <laugh>

Our stewards are a fine lot, generally the worst you get are as mentioned, blocking the view or miscommunication. I think it help that most of our lot are actually football fans who understand what the fan experience is supposed to be like.

Only a fiver and had it since the start of last season. Cant really clean it though as it would just come apart, quite fragile.

It's not especially big, but it's not one of those tiny ones they gave out a few years ago. Peculiar choice of weapon like, a plastic stick <laugh>

Our stewards arent bad at all though in general, when they take people out for standing they're only following orders from above.

Then you know what I mean!

I hate it when they're all on the walkway in front of me leaning over the railings telling people to sit down.
Never heard about the can thing, my mate goes into the pound shop and buys about two cans for the match because the drinks in the stadium are a rip off. <laugh>

I'm sorry if you did see me as well, I'm a bit of a sight at the match. I was on the floor when Friedel saved Tiotes shot...

spitting on someone is assault in the eyes of the law and yes they do remove people for standing (which is their job)but everyone around him was and the spineless steward picked out the weak old man as he dared to say but everyone else is doing it and he was doing it as when seated he couldn't see when told to sit down, like i said a coward.as for the comments on youtube i meant the guy who posted it as he was there not tarring every steward or copper as there are really good ones but in this instance it's stewarding /policing in the extreme.

An aging blue in 109 who refused to sit whilst those around him and the away fans stood. Showsec picked him out as their let's-make-an-example-for-the-day (they do this every week) and then called for the police. The bloke in question sat down before the police went to his seat, even with those around him still standing. They went and spoke to him, and, whilst he was sitting down, told them he hadn't done anything wrong. The GMP seized an opportunity, or at least they thought they did, when Balotelli scored to try and manhandle him out of the ground. I didn't see how the man ended up on the floor but he can clearly be heard in the video saying he takes tablets for a heart problem before they took him out and at no point did I see him forcibly resist. Their treatment of him was disgraceful and that's not all. When the GMP waded into the crowd people were getting elbowed out of the way or knocked over, myself and a kid no older than seven included! Completely out of order and an exemplar for any aspiring stewards or policemen and women in how not to defuse a situation. There's also reports of Showsec stewards lashing out at fans. I did not see these events however but the above description is my eye witness account and I would swear to it in court.

This thread inspired me to share my story now that I've plucked up the courage as I've had one particular run in with a steward that'll never leave me for as long as I live.

During the Fiorentina game, I was filming a few clips (as you do). I was minding my own business and enjoying my time, then this happened...
