Used to be well into NFL as a kid, when channel 4 first started showing it. Started supporting the Steelers and still look out for them now. Now Sky show it I watch the odd game when I get the chance, still enjoyable but usually highlights, I wouldn't have the time to sit through a full live game. Saw a couple of NY Knicks games at Madison Square Garden. First one was Golden State Warriors and then Chicago Bulls, including Jordan, Pippen etc. It was really good. The bloke was a true mega star, The Bulls pissed over the Knicks, really impressive to watch. Not that I've ever watched a single second of any basketball game since mind. It was just throw away entertainment for a night, nothing more. The big thing was seeing Jordan play. I stood next to him at the Ryder cup many years later. Very tall.
It's not boring if you understand it. Obviously not as fast paced as football and some other sports but hey, lets appreciate the game brother. Still need some level of fitness and stamina. I do agree the games can drag though.... I like to use Baseball24/MLB app for alerts so at least I don't have to stay up all night watching. I'm a UK fan you see. Sometimes it can be hard keeping up with MLB over here.
Fair comment , but I have seen the Cubs play at Wrigley field , a high quality School Basketball game , and 2 nfl games at Wembley . Of all of them , it was the Baseball game I disliked . Nice place though , and top quality merchandise .
Yes I have always wanted some Cubs merchandise. Think sometimes because of the length of the game it can get a bit unorganized especially for the fans.
Mine wasn't actually a Cubs thing , but a really nice sweatshirt embroidered with the crest & Wrigley field bits and pieces . Real Quality . Lasted years
I understand it. I've played it. It's still boring. Not as bad in person as on TV though. Especially if with friends and atmosphere is good. Got to go to the smaller league teams to get good atmosphere though. Larger teams the atmosphere is very stale. No you don't. Skill is important. Strength can be useful. Fitness and Stamina are unimportant. Ever noticed how many professional baseball players have beer bellies? You couldn't be a pro at football, hockey, basketball, or almost any other sport and still be chunky.
