So why is it ok for Pugh to get the amount Clayton is asking for without ending up on the transfer list, despite Pugh not having a good game since September?

It's a case of all it's taken is the exact same transfer speculation and "we've got big plans this summer!" statement we heard last season to get you to forget what a lying bullshitter we've got in control of our club, and to get your hopes up and get excited, then try and pass it on to people who aren't stupid enough to believe the spin any more.

Suddenly, where Grayson wasn't allowed his first choice signings time and time again, Warnock will get them no problem with the exact same restraints in place.

We've supposedly made one signing, it's not confirmed yet and we heard "we've supposedly signed x y and z" all last summer, before the irons falling out of the fire.

For a start it is confirmed, and I know who is in charge and I hate him as much as the next person, but if I was to look at things the way you do then whats the point of supporting Leeds !!!! I love LUFC no matter what, so some things I have to put up with and just hope we make the signings we all crave for.

For ****s sake mate I have no idea and I agree I would prefer Pugh to go but it is Warnocks decision not mine. I am for Clayton to stay, if it were me I would give him the contract he desires and sell Pugh however I am not the manager, Warnock is. if I were to take a bet I would imagine Clayton is a one trick pony and Pugh has the bonus of FILLING in when required at LB, LM CM and maybe Warnock see's Pugh as a utility man to cover positions when they are needed by injury and suspension.

I will concede now that it has been confirmed on the website, it's official.

You can support Leeds without getting your hopes up. Normally I'm all for looking at the bright side, but in a situation where the likely outcome is the same ****e we've seen before, I'd rather expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised. The moment we signed Neil Warnock I knew this would happen, the tiniest little bit of hope and suddenly everyone forgets that our club is being destroyed from the inside.

But Pugh is terrible in every position I've seen him in, he's a liability.

BTW Colin does plan to sell McCormack and this desire has been reflected in the contract offer Ross has received. I suspect Bates has told NW he has to sell before he can buy.

Marko, Grayson had a huge squad and just wanted to keep adding to it. Warnock has taken the radical action that Grayson should have taken. That's a huge difference, and one that hasn't seemed to dawn on you yet.

Yep, he definitely kept adding to it, that's why our squad is roughly the same size as it was last season after bringing in some terrible players (after failing to get the first options).

Plenty of loans we had returned to their parent clubs, freeing up plenty more space. All in all at the end of last season we cleared out about 10 players. At least... 2 of those were players we should have kept but didn't for suspicious reasons. They didn't need shipping out because they didn't need replacing, but they were because "their demands were too high" even though one of them was a solid central midfielder who played the majority of our games last season, would have played a lot this season and was asking for a first team wage to match his first team position, and the other being arguably the best (or at least most unpredictable) winger in the league, who I suspect probably wasn't even offered a contract.

End of the day, plenty of players left at the end of last season, enough to give room for the first choice signings to come in. Either way, why do we not have room for a good player but we have plenty of room to sign ****e?

I swear, the amount of effort put into excuses to alleviate the blame from a man who cannot be trusted and doesn't care about your opinion, it doesn't make any sense. The excuse changes for each individual situation when the bottom line is the same.

Well if that's true, it's a real shame. Even if Warnock can't accommodate Ross in a 4-2-3-1 too well, he's still a player that can open up defences from being subbed on.

If he goes, I can't see Snoddy staying either. :emoticon-0147-emo:

There's two sides going on here:

    a) there's those that have decided to believe the hype (again, despite history telling us what we should expect)

    b) there's those who think the same hype is just exactly that.

    I'm in the second camp.

I find the happy clappy first camp to be the ones who will spend all season talking about how we still have a chance, because it is mathematically possible, and then once the possibility has gone, they then find any excuse to believe the hype that the promise of the next season brings, despite the fact there's been another year to show them that believing this guff is a forlorn activity.

But one day....one day.....the club will get lucky, the team will gel, and we wil be promoted and the geriatrics that have been posting for 37 years about how good it is going to be will eventually be able to say....

    I told you so.

Now I know that season will arrive at some point - whether I am dead before then through old age or not is a different matter. But I refuse to just sign up toi the happy-clappy mentality brigade because I am "a supporter". I have too many brains for that. I look at facts and history and base my expectations on what is truly happening at the club, not on what my happiest drug-ridden brain would love to happen.

Just look at the list in my original post. Add in pearce. And tell me - aren't we still in for just another ****e season?

I was surprised to see him offered a contract and not placed on the transfer list if I am honest after NW said that the team needs to play a certain way to accommodate McCormack.

I have no problem with people that aren't optimistic - as you say, history gives you a good reason not to be.
I'm just sick of people telling me what is right and wrong about our club. I'm a Leeds fan, and I'm old enough to look at the facts and formulate my own opinions. I come on this board to discuss matters with my fellow fans, not to have all this propaganda **** shoved down my throat. I'm well aware of what's going on, and why Bates isn't good for the club etc etc.
BUT if I want to look at things, such as the Pearce signing, with optimism, I think I should be allowed to do that without everyone dragging the mood back down. If things go wrong, I'll fall down looking like a twat. But I can do that on my own, without your help <ok>

I'm sick of people telling me to "calm down and wait and see because we don't know what's going to happen in the summer" - yes, we do. I've already been over the reasons why we know what's going to happen, 1000 times and I'm sick of explaining it. And it's these happy clappy optimists that hold back on protesting because "one more chance, we might see change this time, I don't think bates will hold back this time because he wants the club to succeed, why wouldn't he?". People seriously underestimate how unprofessional, petty, small minded and childish people in power can truly be. They are only human after all.

I understand where you're coming from, but the negativity on here is just unreal. I love football, don't get me wrong, but it's a game. Of course I want to see Leeds do well, but I don't allow football to completely control my mood. I'm not asking you to be a 'happy clappy optimist', but not shoving your propaganda **** in our faces would be a good start, and not bringing down other people's optimism would be another. If the summer does turn out to be ****, which I daresay it could well be, you can turn around and say 'oh look, I told you so'. But let us get our hopes up if we want. If we get let down, that's our call. I'd prefer to look at things, if they can be, positively. I'm sick and tired of being told what will and won't happen in summer! You don't KNOW anything for certain. Yes, history and Bates' record dictates that we're in for another **** summer and a let down of a season, but until I see that for certain I'd like to remain optimistic. And if that makes me a 'happy clappy optimistic' and a believer in the hype, so be it. <ok>
