Sorry but that's no answer!. HE is affecting the whole atmosphere at the club. if he has the balls to have a go at Taraabt yet doesn't do anything himself!! Give someone else the armband and they would spend most of the match bolloking barton

The club is weak if it would affect something like that. You know that he is affecting the club for sure? Barton was right to have go at Taaraabt because he was so poor today and by the way it is somewhat the captains job. What should have Barton done? Just tap him on the head and said:" maybe next time son, maybe next time......" Maybe Barton is not the perfect captain or even a very good footballer right now but some comments about him are more than ridicilous even after decent performance......

Nah will have to agree to disagree. adel got a few shots in today and played a sublime pass to swp. We are chasing a game and joey puts a perfect free kick into touch. pure class hey!! Barton bolloked adel for not passing to him and he was about 5 yards behind play!! I did note that joey did lots of chasing and running which even a three legged dog can do!

Well some of here have givin the verdict on Joey and cant see anything positive on his playing. Maybe he is chasing and running too much for nothing but at least he is running. That is something that cant be saying some of our players. Those Taarabts shots were as dangerous as my eleven year old daughters shots when we were practising last summer. His pass to SWP was good but thats all about he did today.

Classic - if you don't shoot you don't score. a captain should encourage not bollok. simples

Spot on as I put on another thread..... This is the AT from last year. He will frustrate but he has to try and he is by far our best outlet. I sit forward in my seat every time he gets it. Someone's it won't come off but that's the nature of the beast and I wouldn't change it!

Firstly you have to shoot like a man so the keeper have something to do for it. Today Fulham goalie could have done some knitting while take on those Taarabts shots.....

Barton is 100% the best midfielder in the PL and without a doubt the most respected capt.

Barton long over due his 2nd England cap - that's what I say. Definitely a contender for England capt to replace JT

I think it's fair to say Joey is playing average at best; his side-kick SWP is well below average (as his miss showed oh so we'll). Joey certainly isn't Captain material, as pointed out he doesn't rally the troops, motivate players (eg Tarrabt) or lead (eg calming Diakite). But, having said that, some of the directed vitriol at JB is missing he point. It's the team, not just an individual. These guys are adults and not bullied kids. They need to stand up and be counted - sow their mettle and balls to get out of this!

Yep and to be fair to SWP having watched MOTD although he should have scored it wasn't a miss, Schwarzer got a touch. As an aside my ex is a beauty therapist and used to wax Schwarzer....what sort of guy has an all over bodywax!

Yes. It was amazing save and why on earth there was not corner after that. Another wrongly judged situation was that where Dembele DID NOT get his second yellow card. IMO he should have get a sent off.

I thought he was the best of a poor midfield yesterday, which doesn't say a lot...

My main gripe with Barton is the fact that his dead ball delivery from corners and free kicks is pants. You can half understand a player making a bad pass when under pressure from the opposition, etc, but when you have time to pick the ball up, place it down, not a defender within 10 yards, look up, see where your team mates are, step back, and kick the ball .... over the lot or into the defender standing 10 yards away (ish). I know lots of players (kids and adults) who aren't very good footballers at all, yet their dead ball delivery is better than Barton's.

Much like Taarabts.....Buszacky is our only decent deadball specialist but he is pants in everything else. It is hughes job to decide who to take these deadball kicks.
