Graham (3 yellows) Poll says it wasn't a red card offence!

    Yeah lets see what happens;

    1. There will be an appeal as there was no violent contact. All the media commentators agree the sending off was extremely harsh. Other similar sending offs have been appealed and overturned.
    2. Warnocks comments are totally justified considering the feigning of injury. Maybe Johnson will be charged with that.
    3. Barton may well be charged for his tweets. They annoy all of us. I suggest Johnson's "comments" about Barton's breath at the darts last night might be considered far worse.
    4. What did Tony Fernandes say. "Hard done by today". Whats wrong with that?
    5. All of the above tell you what you need to know about the incident.

P.S,. What about Johnson twice kicking Barton up in the air? Still none of you saw that.

there won't be an appeal - warnock has already said he won't appeal! maybe he has seen the video of barton elbowing two norwich players in the lead up to it and wonders whether he would get an even bigger ban.

warnocks comments WERE NOT justified at all. he made some bollocks up about our player diving to the ground ffs!! he accused an opposition player of cheating, he backed up his own player who has been a proven cheater THIS SEASON.

so barton tweeting about how a ref was conned is more serious than someone giving some banter. yeah right. both daft and should have stayed shctum but come on!! get real...

i don't think it was fernandes so forgive me if i have it wrong but it was mentioned on 5 live that one of your directors tweeted something offensive and is under investigation.

johnson committed two fouls and should have been booked, no question, as should lappin. mind you, how the hell did helguson not get sent off for a two-footed lung, off the ground on drury? bet you missed that one didn't you...

From what I've seen of the incident, I think there's enough video evidence to suggest that Barton should have been sent off. Whether the officials saw it or not, is a different question, but I think this should be seen as another reason to let refs see video evidence during the game. With Barton's record (which I know in the game shouldn't be considered), he can hardly complain about play-acting to get a player sent off, Arsenal-Newcastle was disgraceful.

On the point of Holt, you can clearly see when the ref shows Barton the red that he mouths "Oh F*ck!", and remonstrates with the ref. Graham Poll was interviewed after the game and also mentioned that he thought Holt protested it, and said only Alan Shearer ever did that during Poll's refereeing career. Surely Holt deserves credit for that?

as i've said elsewhere, the red card is not the issue here, its how the referee and linesman came to make their decision thats controversial. most refs would have sent barton off had they seen the incident clearly but these two didn't so what are they going on? maybe 4th official told him? nobody from qpr can moan about anyone from norwich moaning at the officials. my word, did you see warnock go nuts at them for the whole game??? he does this everywhere he goes. in fact, he's the worst culprit for this sort of thing in english football and i find it staggering that he gets away with as much as he does

Warnock hasn't said he won't appeal. He said he has no faith in the appeals procedure.

Warnock said there was no reason for Johnson's head to go back and then to hold his face to check to see if there was blood when he wasn't even touched. I dont care what happened when Newcastle played Arsenal. I am only concerned about what Joey Barton does playing for QPR and his red card yesterday is totally unjustified. Apart from Norwich fans and bitter Arsenal fans, nobody else is saying his sending off is justified whereas Johnson got away with blue murder and didn't even get a yellow for two vicious tackles.

I am glad you acknowledged Johnson's two tackles on Barton. Each on it's own merits could have warranted red cards and neither of which got even a yellow. As regards the coming together just before the alleged "headbutt" lol, two Norwich players tried to shoulder Barton out of the way and he shouldered both of them back. Look again and you will see it was six of one and there was nothing there from any player that warranted even a yellow card.

Like Lambert, I have selective vision and did not see the Helguson incident. I have not seen it mentioned or discussed anywhere else.

Tell me the QPR directors name and we can all check twitter to see what he said and discuss further.

Seriously, this thread is the best one I've read on here for ages <ok>

Keep it up Koo Pee Arr, don't stop the whinging because I can assure you that for each and every one of us Canaries you are just making OUR VICTORY yesterday even sweeter than it already was (and that is pretty damn sweet in case you hadn't already worked it out).

Your reactions to this incident, along with those of that prize prick Warnock are absolutely brilliant, pure gold and I haven't seen such a pathetic attempt at juvenile, playground whining and bleating for a long, long time.

Absolutely brilliant, please, please don't stop - an absolutely perfect way to start the new year <laugh> <laugh>

totally agree munky. feel a bit sorry for the qpr fans as they are coming across as foolish but maybe one day they will realise what complete tools for a manager and captain they have.

oh, and i can't give the name of the director cos as i said above, i don't know. i am purely going on what i overheard on the radio earlier this morning. didn't think you'd seen the helguson hack... <doh>

Jesus Christ this thread is full of some rediculously one-sided comments!

Norwich fans - Johnson did 'make a meal' of it, no matter what way you look at it. Maybe not a massive feast, but a meal nonetheless. No he didn't go to ground as Neil wrongly suggested, but the idea was to make out that he had been headbutted. Some of the explanations on here describing his movement as simply turning around and touching his nose are just plain rediculous. Johnson was clever, he cheated, you won the game.

QPR fans - Getting a player sent off doesn't make Johnson any different from the large percentage of football players, including, shock horror, QPR players. If we had bought Bradley Johnson in the summer (Im glad we didn't) he would still be the same player, even if he was wearing hoops! So there is no point extending this one incident and stating that Norwich are some how inately full of cheats. And I'm pretty sure that Holt was trying to tell the ref not to send off Barton, so don't have a go at him!

I watched the game online and so can't really comment on who had the noisier fans, but it's pretty pathetic argueing about it anyway. I imagine, both being 'proper' football clubs we both have a louder, prouder set of supporters than a lot of the established Prem teams.

Good point Sid. It is more about their recognition that they are really underperforming due to NWs lack of tactical ability, and they need to take their disappointment out on someone.

also, the mere fact warnock has made an excuse as to why he WON"T be appealing tells you everything you need to know about how he really feels. connor sammon got off his red card the other day. sure, the panel got it wrong with the wolves lad but if its as clear cut as you and your manager suggest, then he'll get off it won't he? got to be worth the appeal - we appealed last season and got a ban completely cleared as the decision was so idiotic.

you however, are looking for yet more excuses, mr warnock. the real issue qpr have is trying to stay up in spite of their manager, rather than thanks to him <ok>

    oh, and you know it!

Coldharbour you're absolutely right, the judge, I mean ref will take Barton's 1001 other offences into account when pronouncing sentence and johnson was a twat for his response, but it seems you have to act like a twat in the PL. Great advert for PL football!!!!

Ah there are some QPR supporters who aren't idiots! Not sure I totally agree with you about BJ though- he had after all been caught in the face only moments before. Also, I'm not convinced the ref or linesman saw the incident, so they won't have seen BJ's reaction afterwards- his face touching happened where the linesman wouldn't have seen, so either way, it wasn't really his fault

Er, but that's exactly what he did do - have you not seen the highlights yet? <doh>
You should ask Joey Farton, he's seen the replay 25 times you know <ok>
