Having watched the incident on TV,and having no time whatsoever for Barton, I was just wondering what Alex Bruce does to Barton, and if it provokes him in some way? It might be nothing but Bruces hand moves towards Barton, but is then obscured by the referee. Not trying to defend Barton in any way because his reaction deserved the punishment, but maybe's Bruce, knowing Bartons volatile nature, just tried to wind him up a bit, hoping, and getting, an overreaction. Agree with an earlier poster as well about the Hull players flying in to try and get young Furlong sent off,but unfortuanately they are all at it,at every club.It goes all the way back to fergies days at man u,when his players used to surround the referee at every oppertunity, either to stop one of their one getting booked/sent off,or trying to get the opposition in trouble. Ever since then all the clubs are at it
Newcastle was at the hight of our injury crisis (I think that was the game where we played our new young cb from Sheffield as a striker bc we had no healthy strikers). I think it was a combo of things, MP, people coming back from injury, our new striker from russia, and a more positive feeling in the lockeroom having all that happen at the same time. Bruce might not leave if we stay up but by all accounts he is getting other offers and you could see it being a smart time to move on to a new challenge.
How much did it set you back? We don't really have the spare space for those kind of banners. We have a massive one that the crowd pass along and we have a trim of supporters club branch banners around the base of the upper stand but I don't think they'd allow us to put one up. please log in to view this image
I think it was like 400 pounds. You can message Dutch on our board if you are interested in doing it, he organized it and has been talking to the club for us.
