Either way was told that was all was on offer, then he started spouting off about the board so it was retracted.

BUT I am disappointed after all his "I love th Club", "I'd tell you if I wanted to Leave" then goes to QPR (no disrespect to them) but it does point to money talks.

He played a large part to putting himself in this position, but now he'll play the victim.

Everyone has their opinions and blame others, but the way I see it is Nolan & Barton had a clique which was very much like Dyer et al who caused so much bother for Bobby Robson and played a large part in him getting sacked because he had 'Lost the Dressing Room'.

Nolan & Barton thought they had the player power to get bigger contracts and when the board didn't play ball they took the hump. They both got offered contracts which they knocked back.
Surely it would have made more sense to stay and pput yourself in the shop window and try and get a better move in January or next summer than to go to a newly promoted side or even the championship.

Money talks in the end it would seem

I think the way he has conducted himself during this transfer saga has made a lot of fans lose whatever respect they had left for him.

It looks like I'm in the minority here. I'm bitterly disappointed he's gone. As far as I can see, he was forced out the door by Ashley and that spineless jellyfish yes man we have as a manager couldn't/wouldn't stand up and fight for him. He may have gone about it the wrong way but I genuinely believe he wanted to stay at the club. Carroll, Nolan, Enrique, Barton. Coloccini next, probably on the last day of the window. That fat cockney twat is destroying the club I love. Our club is a lot worse off for losing these.

Strange all the abuse. I'm certainly no fan of his but from an outsider he clearly didn't want to leave. The manager didn't want him to leave. The owner did. His decision. Clear for all to see I would have thought.
