Barton to bin dippers?

    Difference though is Barton has publicly come out and criticised Ashley and Co and I think is far more stubborn than Carroll, so is more likely to reject any contract offers from Liverpool just to stick it to Ashley.

    Personally I'd rather have Barton stay for one more season, give it his all and then walk away on a free than sell him now and try and replace him - which we won't be able to do.

    Spot on mate. Rather than take £4m or whatever we'd get for him now, I'd love to see him giving his all playing his contract out, and make it as uncomfortable as possible for the FCB. And I'll tell you something else. He's just the guy to do it........

    A season of good performances from Barton is worth more than 4 million. Keep him. At the end of the day it's up to Barton, he doesn't have to leave.

    A lot of difference between a bid being accepted and Barton accepting a move. Well within his right to reject a move, especially to Liverpool as a proud Evertonian (and leave on a free).

    For the sake of £4m I'd rather he stayed until the end of next season and walk on a free if he isn't offered a new deal. I'd be surprised if he chose to go to Liverpool given the reaction they always give him.

    Barton played for Liverpool as a kid and who knows, big contract and a few quid.....Being a Toffee wont come into it

    I think as it's Barton, being a Toffee would come into it! Post match interview after we spanked the bin dippers 3-1, he corrected the interviewer and seemed almost insulted about being called a Liverpudlian!
