Spot on! He and Marseille shouldn't be getting their wish while we foot the bill. I'd have thought all players have an element of community work in their contracts - if Barton won't accept the cost of making the move he wants then let him do LOTS of community work - I believe he signed a tightened contract after Man City so if he kicks up a stink then fine and discipline him. Great PR for us at a base level (working where it's needed) and sends the message out that the players' wages are not more valuable than the board's contribution towards it - enough player power.
