This then, I havnt watched any news today at all.

SIX people – two men, two women and two young children – have been stabbed to death in a St Helier flat.

Police were called to Victoria Crescent, Upper Midvale Road, shortly before 3 pm after a telephone call from a member of the public who said there had been an incident in the street.

Six people have been confirmed dead.

A 30-year-old man is under arrest in the hospital after undergoing surgery.

It is understood that the Accident and Emergency department was locked down this afternoon, with no one being allowed in or out of the building.

Speaking at a press conference at States police headquarters, Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull, who is leading the inquiry, said that the attack had ‘shaken the force’.

He said: ‘It is a challenging and quite complex investigation. It is in its early stages and no formal identification of the victims has taken place.’

DS Gull added: ‘Jersey is an incredibly safe Island – probably one of the safest places in the Western world and incidents like this are extremely rare.

‘It is a pretty traumatic incident all round.’

Describing the scene, DS Gull said: ‘It was clear that a number of victims had been attacked with a knife. Some of them appeared to be deceased and some were still alive. Those who were alive were conveyed to hospital.’

He added: Investigations are continuing at the scene, as they will do over the coming days.’

I know wanted to see what the craic was with JM but had to approach subject carefully. Jersey isnt a big place do you can never know
