All this shows is the club don't tolerate slanderous comments towards the board and owners. When he had his rant the other night there would only be one outcome. Me thinks Barton wanted out.

Shut the **** up you negative ****, stop over reacting and calm the **** down.

Also I'm hardly local am I <doh>

negative ****? Please elaborate on what is positive about this. Or anything that happens in NUFC recently. and why should I "calm the **** down" when we lose 3 of our best players in 6 months. maybe more before the transfer window closes.

as for being local. Last time I went to a game it cost me £350 and even then I had to go by myself because none of my friends are NUFC supporters

Joey can say no to every club if he wants to, but if he's being allowed to leave for nothing, then it's far more likely that a top 4 club will snap him up, and he's already stated that he would leave if he had a chance to play CL football.

I still struggle to see which top 4 club would have him? Chelsea definitely not, Man Utd no, Man City not a chance (they've already turfed him out once if nothing else). Arsenal was rumoured but thats frankly madness, he's not played holding midfield for at least a season and thats what they're after, Parker would be a vastly better option. Liverpool have just spent a fortune on midfielders, Spurs have Sandro and Palacios. Maybe Villa?

Maybe I'm just cynical, but I struggle to look back on all of the jabs he took at the club, and then believe he really wanted to stay here. I'm sorry, but if he really wanted to finish his career here, and didn't want this day to come, then he wouldn't have said everything he's said the way he's said it. And I think it's naive for anyone to believe he really expected to be able to get away with it -- he saw this day coming, and never did a thing to stop it from arriving. In fact, he's only continued to say things to accelerate.

You can't talk so much **** about your boss, then turn around and say you want nothing more than to work for the company -- he knew that all along.

Quite clever from the club, calling Bartons bluff. He's saying he wants to stay, they're saying let's see how much you want to stay then. Also means nobody can talk about them doing it for the money. Still think he'll go, although amusingly now Willie McKay won't get his slice of a transfer fee...

Despite his protests on Twitter stating his desire to stay blah blah blah, he's manufactured himself a move out of the club !!

The ex-con has no morals, he hasn't done anything brave by speaking out as he has said f*ck all, just pointless quotes hinting at disharmony !!

Gone right down in my estimations since becoming a model pro to the youngsters and having his only decent season with us he goes and does this.

What a f*cking pr!ck !!!
