he admitted on twitter he made minimal contact. that means he did make contact. he stated that himself in a tweet to piers morgan. as stated, the intent alone was worthy of a red card. he definitely jabs his head towards johnson and is the aggressor in the lead up to going head to head. its over now and quite frankly the decision to send him off, no matter how bizarre the circumstances surrounding the officials were in reaching that decision, was completely correct

I don't really understand that as a positive.I would have thought that Barton has already demonstrated what a liability he is to your team.Having two draws and six defeats in the last eight games he doesn't seem to be contributing much towards your points total.

at the current rate, barton is being suspended for 1 in every 5 games or so. he has already served a one match ban for five yellows, now a three match ban for a red and he's not far from a two game ban for picking up ten yellows so the rate may well be even worse in the near future. massive, massive liability to his team, especially considering he is captain too.

i think it was a mistake for qpr to buy him personally - i believe qpr as a club are better than joey barton. he makes mistakes on the pitch and off it and i think having barton and warnock on the same side was a big mistake waiting to happen!

So,what you are saying then is which one of them is the bigger liability? As Harry Hill might say..."There's only one way to find out "

    I'd pay to see that!

There has to be a reason that Newcastle let him go for nothing, and then promptly had a massive upturn in their fortunes. I wonder where he'll be in a year or two, my first guess would be Wormwood Scrubs and second guess would be kicking lumps out of people in the SPL for either Celtic or Rangers, depending on whether he's a catholic or protestent <ok>

He's Catholic btw.Around Liverpool where he comes from they are quite keen on the sectarian stuff.Mrs CT grew up there and all her family went on Orange marches every July. She seemed quite amazed when I suggested that this might be just the teeniest bit inflammatory. When we first met she had a go at me for buying meat on Good Friday and was quite surprised that I didn't understand the reason why.I still don't.

The FA are a bunch of Hypocrites they banned a player for intent and yet cry to Uefa when one of their own players is banned for actual violent conduct, oh but I forgot Joey Barton is not a current England player unlike the perperator of the actual violent assaualt. Who do the FA think they are cant they see the diifernce between actual assault and what they claim was intent?

i agree with you tommy that the fa are hypocrites! they should never have appealed the rooney ban. equally, qpr should never have appealed the barton ban. mind you, warnock and barton kicked up such a fuss they'd have looked even more daft had they not appealed <ok>

Such was the speed of the decision, i doubt the official thinking differed much from Stephen Frys appraisal that ' A red card is a red card is a red card.'
