Barton and Nolan at the sportsman dinner last night

I was at the Hilton charity dinner when Barton was quest speaker. Sounds like he echoed what he said there although he had a Q&A session there. Speaks very frankly and is a top bloke in my opinion. He said that shearer basically got personal with him after the alonso tackle and that wasn't on. Which is why they had a big fall out. But as mentioned, they are on speaking terms now.
Apparently the first offer nufc gave him was piss poor but e club came back in with an offer that Barton was ready to sign, all was in place according to Barton, but then lambias changed something in the contract at the last minute which is why it is not signed.

 

****ing hate Derek Llambias.

 

Why cant he just **** off/die?

Am I the only one is getting bored of Barton telling the Orient story? (Losing 6-0 to Orient is not the best thing to happen to the club) Slagging off the Chairman & claiming to be the best footballer in the country?

If I was Ashley and Barton had slagged me off numerous times I'd be thinking about ****ing him off, all it does is create disharmony between the Board and the team. I think it shows that there is a chance he can spit his dummy if he doesn't get his own way. Yeah so he's not in the England set up, so what? How does slagging off the players who are help his cause? If he does get an England call up who in the current team is going to want to play with him after he's slagged them all off.
Barton should shut his face (in public at least) and get on with playing football, he's been good this season but he's had some shockers too, can't remember who it was that beat us when he was filling in as captain but he was bloody terrible that game.

I disagree about whether Barton should shut up or speak out.

The club tells the fans almosty nothing, and what it does say we don't beleive. The only source of info that we can place much stock in is what players like Nolan and Barton say. They may be being lied to, but I don't think they're lying to us.

As for crating disharmony, I doubt there's muchchance of any of the players liking the board. You can, however, create a lot of harmony among the players from their collective dislike of the board.

As for talking about the England set up. I could do without it but it doesn't bother me much one way or the other.
