Spanish has a point. It’s often claimed by Norwich types that the Norwich-Ipswich rivally is because we are the only two clubs of note that represent their respective counties. As such, you should really support the club with the sensible colours and proud history. Also, this is because the relationship between Norwich and Ipswich in footballing terms is akin to the Scotland-England relationship in general terms: IE, a plainly bigger and superior entity becoming the focus of the smaller’s obsession. Current circumstances notwithstanding (football is cyclical after all), Ipswich are the dominant English, Norwich are the obsessed, whining Scots.
