I’m not, they were awful even before Brownhill was injured , they’ve been awful for a while , but we are still in the top 6 and within touch of the top 2, I did however point out injuries to key players haven’t helped. No matter how much a player costs if they are overused or played out of position they are not likely to perform to their best.

I agree we are close to the top but equally the same number of points to 12th.
It's getting really 'scunched' up below City and we need to start improving quickly.
As for our injuries/suspensions, they're probably no worse or better than other clubs.
And to be fair LJ has more resources than at least half in the Championship.

Just read Junior's thoughts about the last 45 seconds at Barnsley.
He wished he could have played. Hilarious.

    Didn’t Johnson buy Bentley though?

Absolutely agree we need to start improving quickly , we’ve been dire recently and if we aren’t careful with things being so tight we could drop quickly, that’s why o made the point that whilst I wasn’t too concerned about losing the points I am concerned about the way we are playing, but to be fair when you factor in the long term injuries we’ve had , dasilva , Kalas , Nagy , they are 3 of our best and most expensive players , and that’s not even including Afobe, we can’t be too critical. How many teams with that level of quality out would be in our position.

I’ve asked the question on here before and no one really has answered , what was the point of swapping Baker for Taylor Moore, other than for more aerial presence , if that’s the case in my opinion it was misplaced, Baker for me has been the one major disappointment so far this season , I thought he’d be our main stay defender alongside Kalas, when Kalas was injured it was his opportunity to step up, he’s been awful , nowhere near the level he used to be. If as rumoured LJ had bids turned down for central defenders in the last window i would move Baker on and bring one of those in.

'Caught in the headlights' - Lee Johnson's frank assessment of Bristol City's draw at Barnsley
Full transcript of the head coach's post-match press conference

Lee Johnson's vantage point at Oakwell wasn't particularly unique for the Bristol City head coach as he knows the directors' box well following his year in charge of the Tykes before moving to Ashton Gate.

However, it provided Johnson with a different view and appreciation of the 90 minutes - albeit a difficult one as the Robins allowed a 2-0 lead to become a 2-2 draw in the space of 17 minutes at the end of the contest.

Following the draw and the missed opportunity to move level with West Brom at the top of the Championship, Johnson offered his thoughts on the performance.

I know it’s a point away from home Lee but that must have been a difficult result to take?
Tough one to take. Disappointed with my group, I’ve got to be honest with you. That’s the first time this season I’ve been disappointed.

I’m not sure I’d have been 100% happy even if we’d have won 2-1. But to be as stretched as were with 45 seconds to go, shows me we need to bump up our aggression and leadership to influence other people.

It didn’t make sense to be as stretched as we were in that instance.

Where did that stem from, in terms of areas of the field?
Just poor decision making. We’re square pegs in round holes in terms of positions but saying that I still think we should have coped at 2-0 up.

Listen, Barnsley were plucky today, as they have been all season. They haven’t got the most quality, in terms of Championship top six but I thought it was an even game, I really did.

Bentley’s made three or four – well, definitely, two really good saves and we got some good players out on the pitch that really got caught a little bit in the headlights in the last 15-20 minutes.

Tomas Kalas didn’t look like he had been away in terms of his fitness, what was your analysis of his performance?
That’s a big boost for us, definitely. Obviously having Tomas back.

You look to him as our record signing to give us that steely defending ability and you saw that on four or five occasions when he read the play and swept up or bought us time with fouls because he leaps so well.

But I’m still disappointed that even he couldn’t influence that last 45 seconds better.

So are we talking about individuals or collectively here?
I’m going to keep my mistakes to myself, not because I’m frightened to admit my mistakes but because I don’t want to demonise the individuals for my mistakes.

How was it watching, not being down in the dugout and able to influence matters?
It was alright. Of course, I would have rather have been down in the dugout, particularly at the end … I’d rather have been playing to be honest with you, in the last 10 minutes.

But it is what it is. I’m still a young manager, I didn’t really say anything too derogatory but I’ve been stung, it’s a rap on the knuckles and a lesson for me moving forward.

    How’s Josh Brownhill?
He’s alright. It was a back spasm, a strange one. It wasn’t a hamstring which is good.

You’d hope that would ease off over the next three or four days and hopefully he’ll be alright for Cardiff.

    How did he do it?
I think it was a twist. Sometimes the pelvis slips and that causes a back spasm. We’ll get him realigned with an osteopath and let it settle down over the next couple of days.

How did you rate Marley Watkins’ performance?
I thought he was excellent until he got cramp [chuckles]. So that says it all.

How do you see Barnsley in this division, a very young squad but with a specific style of play?
I think they’ve got talent. I think they play with a sometimes suicidal high line, obviously that’s something we tried to target.

That’s got its strengths and weaknesses.

We felt we could try and exploit that. We knew they have some good individuals.

We obviously had Cauley Woodrow and he’s a threat. Particularly from the mid-range, 18-20 yards out, you don’t want to allow him to get on the half turn.

They’ve got some very athletic young talent and, listen, I’ve been here, I know the way the club likes to recruit.

It’s not always easy, particularly in the rigours of the Championship. But, as you saw today, they showed massive signs of guts and gumption.

I think it was a fair result, I really do. As disappointed as I am in my group, I don’t think that Barnsley necessarily deserved to lose the game.

OK, wasn't quite Messi as a player:emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0133-wait:, but still nowhere near as bad as some make out.
You keep forgetting RP, LJ is the only manager able to keep us in the 2nd tier of English football for so long & competing well....since AD......Now you could talk about resources, but that would just dabble over the same old rubbish.......the fact that he's doing it and doing it against much bigger clubs than us. For me he's become the best manager we've had since the 70s.........and he's still very young and learning all the time.......does it for me mate!!

Do you really need to know why he's been subbed SIX times this season ? Well, if you're sitting comfortably, I'll begin.

It's the sign of a very weak manager hooking the 'Youngen' off.

It's been a very disappointing string of results to be honest. From the beating at Luton, where other 'contenders' all go and win, to the lucky draw with Wigan where we deserved nothing and now the latest capitulation ooop north and another 2 points thrown away.
I watched the Wigan v Swansea game and whilst the Swans rode their luck they never gave up, and that appears to be the difference between us and the teams around us at times.

It often feels like we don't want it enough, but maybe it's me.

Yes we've had a bad run of injuries but we're not alone.
