Makes you proud, hey! Drew with them at home too. Another one of the relegation fodder that we couldn't beat this season.
Spot on FML!!! Mind you we did the double over both Boro and Bristol City. Edit - So am I right in thinking we now have NO fit DMs for the visit of Reading??? At least we then have a week off before we play Fulham.
I wonder if Raggett could slot in there. Stieperman's could probably step in too. He's baby sat most other positions.
...perhaps with our more reliable 3x CB formation we're not so reliant on a DM. Perhaps another attack minded CM behind or next to Maddison linking defence to attack could be the answer to our balance issue.
I doubt it, Farke doesn't even trust Raggett to come in at CB when Zimmermann was unavailable, changing the formation in preferance to using him, may have been tactical but his lack of game time so far probably reflects that he hasn't got up to speed yet. Stieperman seems a better bet, but I still remember Whittaker being hung out to dry out of position at defensive midfield. Defenders don't necessarily take to the position well. Bah!
That's true. I always assume defenders are gagging to get forward a bit or be given their chance like Chris Sutton. Doesn't always work granted.
Watkins was n DDF's 'player watch' last night and here's his summary - 'VERDICT: Totally ineffective in the first half, particularly when trying to win the ball in the air, but more involved after the introduction of Hernandez and a switch to a 4-1-4-1 shape 10 minutes after the break. May benefit from a run of games with Nelson Oliveira out injured but needs to find another couple of gears.'
What about the Ginger Pele? He made the transition and though never prolific (who ever is in a canary shirt ) banged in a few corkers
What a year for injuries. We currently have 7 of our 24 players ill or injured. With both Trybull and Leitner out our pass success rate was down to 68% from the high 80s, though that was also affected by a longer passing game to suit Vrancic's strengths. On the plus side Murphy (7.5 on Whoscored), Husband (7.3) and Vrancic (7.1) had good games, as did Hanley (7.5) and Klose (7.4). Maddison was restricted to 7.0 by Gardener's tight marking until Wes came on.
Reed should hopefully slot in alongside Vrancic. Otherwise, sit Madders back and put Hoolahan in at number 10.
Yes, Reed was on the bench last night so he should be able to play alongside Vrancic on Saturday. Hopefully others will also be back by the time we face Fulham.
