The bit I have highlighted of your post is actually incorrect, in our case at least.

FSG aim is to buy young players and sell them on at increase value, that much they have said.

At the same time if a bigger club comes calling for our star players then both our owners will sell at the right price.

That is the actions of a selling club - you lose your best players when bigger clubs come along.

I understand you complicating the situation by saying every club other than Real/Barca are a selling club - and you could argue they are.

If we were not a selling club then Suarez and Sterling (delighted in hindsight he's gone) would still be here and Carrick and Modric with you guys.

I thing your status as a selling club may change this year though. Ours not so much.

We still have a lot of work to do to make us a club big stars want to stay at.

you can just sense the undercurrent of envy seeping from that post
'but Bale left even though he said he wouldn't'

  6. Come off it, Ern!

"...difficult to lure away from City..."

Yeah, if they use cheese! But it they use money and - oh, let me think.... got it! - a promise of playing in the first Barca XI, along with the likes of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, I think they may well find that it's not really going to be that difficult.

Or do you think differently, Ern?

I think he has Champions league football next season, I think Leicester are about to win more prize money this season than any team in football has before, i think he's first on the sheet and guaranteed a starting place at Leicester, will he play every week at Barca? Bale, Modric, Berbatov, Carrick & Keane left because they wanted to challenge themselves against the big clubs, something trotterham couldn't provide, but Leicester can.
I don't know the man, or his personality, so I can't speak for him here, but money isn't everyone's God. You also have to take in what Leicester City is, a small provincial town where aslmost everyone is a Leicester City fan, it's not like London where people get lost amongst the masses. Can you imagine living in a town where everyone knows and loves you, that's some warm glow of contentment there, worth far more than money

I'm not going to say he won't leave, only an imbecile would make a statement like that, but the likelyhood isn;t so great as the aforemention Trotters 'Bale-ing' out

... a lot of sense BE ... in terms of character he's a very humble and shy lad who has expresed his enormous gratitude for the oportunity given to him by the club ... what he's actually said is that it is his ultimate ambition to play at the Nou Camp ... not necessarily FOR Barcelona there <laugh> ... who knows eh?

In reality, he is a mercurial talent, a real entertainer, for me the most exciting player currently plying his trade in the EPL ... no Leicester fan (I hope) would begrudge him a move to Barcelona (or Real, Bayern etc) if the money on offer reflects his ability and potential and he himself wants to go ... but hopefully that won't be for a couple of seasons yet .. he is certainly enjoying his life to the full with us and is on a long term contract ...

Our current owners haven't yet sold any players actually in the first team ...they don't need to ... the club is on a sound financial footing ... and their global business interests are currently booming, in part due to the current highs being experienced by the club ... I don't see them a simialr to Levy at Spurs (at least how he has been historically) wheeling and dealing and continually selling off the cream as part of a business strategy ... perhaps that has changed, who knows .... but I don't expect us to be doing that.

Very exciting times to be a Leicester fan ... would love to sign Dimitri Payet and Sessegnon from West Brom in the summer - but suspect one of those isn't going to happen <laugh>

  9. Unless Mahrez is a **** and forces a move (can't see that happening), then he won't be going anywhere for less than £30m.

Leicester will sink next year. Trying to maintain a premiership challenge and the CL will stretch them further than they've ever been stretched.

I expect that Mahrez does feel a certain loyalty to Leicester. But if he has any normal ambition as a player, and if Barca do come calling, he'll be gone. No, it's not all about money for everybody. But very few turn down the opportunity to play for the world's best club side.,

... don't think we would accept that ... Hazard rumoured to be leaving Chelsea in the summer for circa £60 m ... twice the player that Mahrez is? ... wouldn't think so ... indeed if you judge on this season the fees ought to be reversed <laugh>

  12. I don't think you would accept that either, I think you'll be looking more around £45m but that's just my opinion.

... <laugh> you wish ... and that is all.

So Einstein, why would we be any different to Spuds next season by the way? ... won't you be attempting the same thing? ... but then you are Totteringham and used to competing in the Champions League whilst maintaining a Premiership challenge? ... NOT ..... LMFAO <laugh>

Expect our superb scouting network to have added further gems over the summer ... Ahmed Musa possibly the first (although at £23 m hardly a hidden jewel) ... one certainty you can depend on ...Leicester City will go into next season with the strongest squad ever assembled at the club ... and the current lot haven't done too bad now have they ...

In contrast, if Del Boy remains true to form, expect a fire sale of your crown jewels <laugh> ...

... and fair enough ... I see him to Barca or Real, possibly the season after next ... very much doubt he'll go to another EPL club, firstly because I don't think he'd want to, secondly because I don't think we'd sell to such and thirdly because I suspect only CITEH would put up the money we'd consider for a domestic move and they are likely to be going for Douglas Costa or even Messi himself with Pep in charge ...

Ok, let's wait and see then! But, you'll suffer next season and all the smileys in the world won't change that.

We won't be selling any of our top players unless they demand a transfer. Despite what Wums would have everybody believe, Levy has never sold a top player who didn't request a transfer. He fought hard to keep both Modric and Bale - they were only sold after going, or threatening to go on strike. At that point Levy did what any pragmatic chairman would do, he struck the best deal he could for both players. Plus he avoided having to sell them to any Premiership rival

  18. although you probably don't want to see it happen, you'd be better off seeing him go to a English club because they will pay more.

  19. Got to be honest, I think Leicester will struggle next season too. The expectations have gone through the roof and you'll be trying to juggle domestic and European football, something Leicester certainly aren't used to. there is also the possibility of losing key players as well.

Add to that the expectant resurgence of Man City, Chelsea and possibly Man Utd and Liverpool too.

Don't get me wrong, you are in a very strong healthy position now and if you push on from this season in the right way there is no reason why you shouldn't have another storming season. But don't underestimate how hard it is to repeat a successful year.

the only long-term success for spurs is the long-term wait for it.
