Unfortunately we now live in a suing country like the USA is. All organisations are terrified of lawsuits. Round my way they wont even paint the cricket field fence in case somebody gets it on their clothes. The local wmc wont use bleach to clean the bogs anymore because some arsehole got a bit on her skirt.
I hated sports days at Redhouse comp in the 1970's, yes hockey was dangerous and one crack off that stick could be serious, dodged rugby but liked football, badminton, the 5 mile run (around Carley hill quarry !) your toes and other delicate parts would nearly freeze off in the winter. swimming was a summer sport and also liked that. The injuries we got was in the woodwork lessons. I sanded my finger nail right down once, and one lad split his head, how I don't know.
I was the class clown, we'd go for a durrie at the shed lol Mr Brown had a crack so I called him a ***got. Silly really but things you do when 17 To this day I was really proud of that F I got in Industrial Skills
