England (from): Andrew Strauss (captain), Ravi Bopara, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior (wkt), Michael Yardy, Tim Bresnan, Ajmal Shahzad, Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Paul Collingwood, James Tredwell. Bangladesh (from): Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mushfiqur Rahim (wkt), Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Raqibul Hasan, Naeem Islam, Shafiul Islam, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hossain, Mahmudullah, Shahriar Nafees, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Nazmul Hossain. Umpires: D Harper (Aus) and R Tucker (Aus) Third umpire: A Dar (Pkn) Match referee: J Crowe (NZ) As I type these words, just over 2 hours before kick-off (sorry, wrong sport ) Andrew Strauss has still not let on who will open the batting for England. This is a huge must-win game for England. Defeat here would likely mean going into the West Indies match with a win or go home scenario. Which Bangladesh will turn up? The one that bowled Ireland out for 178 or the one that collapsed to 58 all out against the WIndies? All will be revealed in the next 8 hours.
Bad news for me. I have to go on a job at Larnaca at lunch time, so will probably only see the first 15 overs of England's innings
Eng 25-0 in 5 overs Some accurate bowling, with the only loose deliveries going to the boundary. A wasted bowling review though for an LBW appeal that pitched way outside leg stump
Not sure Prior is cut out to open... at least with Morgan, Bell and Trott to come we should have some decent batting.
Oh dear, this is looking very ominous for England. Someone is going to have to put their hand up and make a big score and ideally at a fast rate or England will struggle to make a decent total at all. Bangladesh don't gave great batsmen, but Tamim Iqbal could probably knock these runs off in 2 overs.
Strauss gone! We need a good knock from Mr (dependable) Trott. And Alexander Graham needs to ring true as well
Looks like their could be another wicket any moment. Just defend, defend, defend. Not looking like a good total for England.
Just 10 runs off the last 5 overs. These two have had a look, but they can't 'have a look' for too long!
Well, it was a wicket waiting to happen. We only have 1 in-form batsman left! If Trott goes now, I am very, very worried. As it is we might struggle to reach 200. Hopefully Morgan is going to have a good one and rescue us.
Just seen on the stream I'm watching that,in 9 ODIs played here, the average score by the team batting 1st is 202. 60% of wickets have been taken by spinners, so Swann is going to be busy. Colly will probably bowl off breaks rather than his normal medium pacers
If Morgan (and those who follow) can score freely, then Trott can play a proper cricket innings and hopefully stay to the end. The next 10 overs are crucial.
With these two in and starting to pick up the gaps, would you consider taking the batting power play? Also it is rumoured that a storm is brewing for later to Duckworth/Lewis could come into play.
Well, double the 30 overs score would give a total of 246,which won't be a walk over, but will require tight bowling and fielding.
