    Despite the fact that has been proven that The Beatles were influenced by soul, sung songs in the style of soul, covered many soul records and in turn had their songs covered by famous soul artists, you still for some reason can't accept they have 'soul'.

    Your argument suggests The Beatles were just this simple generic rock and roll band. They were far from that.

    EDIT: Looked them up, I've heard that World Cup song they did. Quite glad I've heard nowt else by them.

    Agreed but I merely pointing out that Lennon, McCartney and Harrison wrote stuff individually as much as still in the Beatles as outside and some of the stuff from previous years turned up in the likes of Double Fantasy, McCartney in Wings albums, In My Life was just a personal favourite.
