At the risk of arguing with you...no I dont. It takes 2 people to have an argument, if everyone just agreed with me then I wouldnt have to tell them where they're going wrong.
Not at all. I like what I like. Listen to those bands - there is nothing remotely obscure or pretentious about them. They do what they do because they like it - not to be famous, rich or receive critical acclaim. This is a great song - whether it sold 5,000 or 500,000 copies
You still don't know what "obscure" means, do you? It's not necessarily a negative term; it just means something is not very well known.
I don't understand your argument then. These bands make great music - they just haven't had huge commercial success. How does expressing my like for them make me superior? I'm genuinely interested whether anybody else might like them too.
Off topic but **** it. George RR Martin you're a twat. I've read the books and knew. But you're still a twat. Ta.
It doesn't matter. It's just that I've had many conversations with people over the years and sometimes they start chucking obscure band names into the mix in order to sound superior. I thought that's what you were up to when you asked "Anyone heard of/like The Queers, Screeching Weasel, The Lillingtons, Huntingtons, The Riverdales , The Hextalls? Suspect I know the answer."
Just seen it, eh? Even when you know it's coming, you still hate it. Unless it's Joffrey, then you ****ing love it.
OK then. But if you like the Pixies, it's not unreasonable to think you might like Ramones type bands. I like the Pixies too and bands like The Wedding Present, The Fall, JAMC etc. I'm appealing to people with common tastes. Have a listen, you might indeed like them.
Nah, don't like it. Never a fan of punk. I know, the Pixies were not a million miles away, but, well, whatever... never really liked punk.
Leonardo wasn't his surname either. He was referred to as Da Vinci long before Dan Brown was a twinkle in his dad's eye.
Yep. Quite a lot. But some is sh*te. Like Pork & Beans, You Gave Your Love To Me Softly, Trampoline, Jamie, Dope Nose, Beverly Hills, Keep Fishin' - to name a few
The Jesus And Mary Chain were my favourite band when growing up. Surely there are some fans here? They knew the history of rock'n'roll Nothing beats hearing "Never Understand" for the first time.
