Oh, here's a band I don't get - Elbow. Aren't they just the soundtrack for 'emotional' moments on cookery/talent shows now? Always found them dull.
I'd like people to like music for its own sake - not as a fashion statement, to be popular, to fit in etc. And if that maxim was followed, X Factor would die.
What did they do? Send him into a coma during rehearsal? They used to be, I believe, seen as this progressive, arty indie band at the start. I never liked them then, but they appeared to have an artistic integrity at least. Now they just seem silly. And even more boring.
They were on at Jodrell Bank the night before PW was playing. Their hipster fans waiting for & walking to their lifts in the dark country lanes made the powers that be reassess safety for the following evening.
They've suddenly gone up in my estimation. Just think, it saved you 2 hours of listening to the same song 20 times.
Some of the WUMs on here are very funny, some are clever, some are very funny & clever. You're none of these.
Having read your input on this and other music threads, I strongly suggest you stick to masturbation.
There's no WUM involved. I think Weller is absolutely ****ing woeful, somehow forging a career on reissuing the same song sporadically for the past 30 years. Each to their own. I didnt have a go at anyone else's opinion for liking him.
Not getting recognition doesn't mean their music is obscure? I think you'll find that's pretty much the definition of the word! I think you missed my point!
Its about this time somebody usually claims Cast are really good and then the whole world becomes preposterous.
I saw Neutral Milk Hotel on Saturday. They were pretty good live but people were crying which I dont understand, its just a band after all.
Why? Because I have a different opinion? Somebody claimed earlier that they despised Morrissey and i didnt ask them to **** off. They can think what they like.
That you seemed to be chucking obscure - check the dictionary for a definition! - bands into the conversation to appear superior.
