Decided to accompany the wife on a few errands this morning.. You know, spend some quality time; came back and put Wimbledon on for her ...

... Then poured a vodka at 16:55 and turned the telly over :)

This is genuinely the thing I'm most excited for when I eventually find employment. Well, that and the money.

Someone here in Southend has set up a business charging around £4 for delivery of McDonalds, Subway and KFC to your door.

On it. So far I've applied for a job with Next and another with Boots though.

That sounds horrible. Sign up with an agency and they'll find **** for you. And it'll add good experience to your CV too.

    And stories.

Odd. I was just saying to my girlfriend this afternoon that there's a huge gap in the market when it comes to burger delivery, and how I'm amazed McDonalds or Burger King haven't ever really done it that I'm aware of.

Bet they've given it plenty of thought. If I want to get a burger delivered there are plenty of places in range. But whenever I get a takeaway I don't really think burger.

I guess the question is how much of that thinking is just because big burger chains generally don't deliver? There are places that deliver burgers but personally I wouldn't want to get a burger from most of the places I've seen that offer to deliver them. I guess the relatively low cost of a McDonalds meal compared to a pizza is one factor that might make it impractical but I think there'd be a good level of demand if McDonalds or Burger King offered delivery.

Gotta think about how much they'd have to spend on vehicles and staff to drive them. The demand would be massive as well so they'd need loads. Probably impractical as your average McDonald's order is so cheap.

There'd be up front costs of course but I think they could make it work with a delivery fee and/or free delivery on whatever minimum spend they deem appropriate. It also gives you the option to have some restaurants open only for delivery (and drive-through?) from late evening into the early hours of the morning.

Is it safe to say that I thought Metallica were really good tonight? Not my bag of chips, but a stellar performance.

No need for delivery over here everyone has >1 car and drives everywhere. I can literally see work out my window, but we drive.
