Despite the petition being ridiculous, it still doesn't alter the fact that Cleverley is garbage and shouldn't be anyway near the England or Manchester United team. Roy is setting England up for failure if he thinks a squad including Smalling, Cleverley and Caulker is good enough for the World Cup.

It wouldn't make any difference who he selects; we aint gonna win it. For all sorts of reasons, or maybe even no reason at all, we don't breed the best footballers.

Agreed along with Curtis Davies. England's defence will get ripped to shreads when we play Uruguay and/or anyone decent.

Indeed. Plus Jack Wilshere is now fast becoming a sick note. Just touch him and he is injured. We need passers of the ball in Brazil and Hudds is the man for doing that. Sadly Woy just is not the man for the job. Just an FA yes man. imo.

It's a good petition, what's with all the knicker wetting?

Do you really want to see Cleverley vs Pirlo this summer?

If you think having a petition is a good thing to do, then all well and good. The guy who started it is obviously a ****, and anyone who thinks it's a good idea is clearly one too.

In your case, we knew that already though :D

Can you think of a better way of informing our glorious England manager (may all his sheep be hairy) that you consider his selection policy to be less than sensible?
    No?
    Thought not
Do you think we are going to be successful at this years World Cup?
Save your bile for those who deserve it

It’s crazy how people will sign something like this but won’t do **** all in terms of protesting for real change.

Anyway, that aside, I was looking for stories on reaction to the petition and found this load of egocentric ****ing ****e.

I could never be so presumptuous to think that my opinion means anything to him, nor that it should. Express your opinion on the matter by all means, but do you really think that people have some kind of entitlement to be able to "inform" him that you consider his selection to be wrong? It does amuse me when fans think they know better than people who have operated at the business end of professional football for years. It's staggeringly arrogant, in fact.

As I said earlier, no I don't, but it will be down to far more fundamental issues than Roy Hodgson's selections.

I think you just qualified as a worthy recipient.

I don't care what my opinion means to him, he isn't someone I respect. Football is a "public" event and as such brings public comment like this forum. I, like everyone else including you, is entitled to an opinion within the bounds of the law.
I'm glad I amuse you. It was meant to be a joke. It upset Roy, it upset Moyes and it upset you.
    Good.
But at no point was it abusive. You on the other hand...................
Again, your entitled to your opinion...................I don't care

    "He isn't someone I respect".

Unbelievable. And typical of the average internet/bar-room gobshite "opinion" that seems to prevail everywhere, exemplified by the creation of the Tom Cleverley poll.

How many professional football teams have you managed, in different countries around the world, at club and international level? How many foreign languages do you speak? What have YOU achieved in your life? Really?

Don't get me wrong - I'm not a massive fan of Roy Hodgson, but I respect his achievements. You've got to be a bit of a **** not to.

My achievements are not in question
Its a Football forum, people put forward opinions, that's what it's for
Everyone is entitled to their opinion
    Even you
    We don't have to agree
    I don't respect him
But the poll got under his skin..........................ask yourself why?
    But I don't abuse him

this is very true, harsh on cleverly, but the petition highlights how absurd a few of Hodgson's choices are, and not limited to Cleverley

It's disgusting. Although I think cleverly is crap no one deserves that, Hodgsons to blame for his pathetic skills of picking players. What does he do all day if he only watches some players once or twice, its ridiculous. I hope cleverly goes on to do well in Brazil now.

Even more than 17000 must think that reply is typical, chin stroking, "I know better than you" bullshit...
