    You're talking about football supporters.

Do you go to the match? Is every single match going Saints fan witty and intelligent or are a majority morons?

They're singing it because they have low IQ's and have probably had a few beers before the match with their mates.

**** the Daily Mail and its ilk if they want to condemn and sneer at them. They are doing absolutely **** all harm in singing stupid songs and there's far worse going on in the world that people can show actual bona fide concern for instead of pathetic moral outrage at something they weren't even there to witness in the first place,

Terrace culture and the songs that go with it are part of the fabric of British football. Some of it goes a bit over the top, but overall it's just part of the Pantomime of it all. In the same way that people jeer and boo Mr Punch or heckle actors at the theatre.

Modern culture has been sanitised to the point where you can't be seen to offend anybody. In general I agree with not deliberately going out of your way to be offensive to anybody in real life, but football is entertainment and theatre, it's a spectacle with an audience where there are goodies and baddies.

My personal opinion is that if you go to a football match, then expect to hear swearing, heckling and some songs that may be offensive. If that upsets you, then it's probably best not to go.

The actual truth is that those who are outraged are sat at home watching it on TV anyway.

That's if they even watched it. Most are offended because they feel they should be.
