Ofoe looked very good against a decent saints side. Changed the game when he came on. Surprised how little of him we have seen.
Allot of the time we fans see very different things to the manager and even each other. Would I have done things differently to the gaffer? Yes, i would certainly have not juggled the team as much, though I have sympathy with him in so much as having a number of players out of form or inconsistent. That said I believe a lot of the inconsistency came from the chopping and changing. I have been very disappointed with Naismith so far, but I don't know how fit he is? Klose took time to settle and had a couple of poor games at the start. He was persisted with and now we all probably view him as our best and most important player. The same could have been said for Naismith had he not picked up his injury. He was brilliant against Loserpoo. What about Redmond, in and out of the side, little continuity, If he had a proper run of games would he flurish? Actually maybe not, not with us anyway, not until he ups his defensive workrate. Though with Tim in the side he is just the sort of player we need, he is capable of unlocking defenses and with better organisation at the back with Tim, we can maybe afford that luxury element. As for Ofoe, Lafferty, Hooper et al, all i can imagine is they just don't train well, as with our struggles this season it is difficult to imagine that AN hasn't at least been tempted to make changes in the attacking 3rd. I wouldn't have had a crystal ball at the start of the season to know that O'neil was going to be a good bet in the holding midfield role, but I could have told you that Howson on the right, left or holding role would be a waste of his talents. Bamford (Back on topic at last!) never got much chance, like Ofoe he had some bright moments and looked briefly like he may be better than what we had. In others he looked as or more ineffective and with only fleeting appearences he was unlikely to improve on that. I'd sign him for next year if we could get him on a permanent deal. He's shown he's good in the championship and I think he may have what it takes to step up to the PL soon. But he will need football next season, a PL bench will not get him that, another good season in the Champ and he may be more ready to make an impact if he has an offer of PL footy. Bah!
No, he's a chelsea player, so he'll have to leave, play well and then have Chelsea try to buy him back! More a Lukaku! Bah!
