Which of these 2 is the worse buy?

    Close one I say.

Welbeck dummy was great and Balotelli miss from 2 yards was on par too.

You might think that. However, I might think this whole thread is a waste of time!

    Only saying!

Dunno if LFC performance would differ we had Shane Long instead of Balotelli.

  6. Work ethic would be much better with the same goal return

Welbeck reminds me of Walcott. Actually a decent wide option, bit of pace, lots of movement, good work ethic and pitches in with 5-10 goals a season. He'd probably do better for us than Balotelli as suits our style more at the moment, however he's not a CF and like Walcott, although he wants to play there, needs to realise he's better in a wider position.

  8. In answer to the OP, is have preferred us to sign Welbeck.

Pretty sure people realise by now that work ethic and movement are priorities to me

And yet you had that Suarez signature, his work ethic didn't prioritise how you felt about him <whistle>

Well to be honest, Balotelli work ethic has been great so far.

He just doesnt have that acceleration like Welbeck has, and I agree Welbeck would be a better choice for our team.

  11. He was still a team player despite being a **** :)

  12. Disagree! His work ethic as been better than expected but that doesn't mean it's good enough.

Notice you ignored the movement aspect too :p

Be surprised is anyone rates balotelli higher. Not that anyone rates welbeck highly but in tye premier league, as gerrez says, doing **** all is of no use to anyone.

£32m the pair, just shows the total nonsense that the transfer market has become.

    Wouldn't want either of them

The former was merely past it, the latter was an absolute shocker of a panic buy

Wouldn't say past is. Just a striker at chelsea. 9/10 times thats a death sentence.

  18. If you remember, when we were linked to one of Balotelli or Eto'o I said I'd rather keep Borini (who was linked to Sunderland for £14m at the time) or sign Shane Long (£12m). Obviously, I didn't actually want us to go into the season with Long or Borini as our main man but I still stand by what I said.

My preferred option was someone like Lavezzi. Not the greatest goalscorer in the world but works his socks off and would have fit in with our free flowing interchanging attacking football of last season whilst maintaining the tenacity that Suarez offered us; or the spirit of last season if you like.

  19. what I find frustrating is we were in for Deigo Costa the previous summer but he turned us down because of a lack of CL football. He would have been the perfect replacement (as much as a replacement can be) for Suarez. Obviously wasn't to be though.
