Been having this discussion (argument) with my other half. Would like a big club home or away that I've not seen us play .....Liverpool would be my first choice
From a financial point of view a big club away would be the best guarantee of a decent payday. A big club at home wouldn't generate the same gate revenue, but if that happens there is the possibility of the game being televised which would of course bring in additional revenue. After two away draws I guess it would be good for the regular supporters to get a home draw, but from a selfish point of view because of my location one of the Manchester clubs would be best. At the moment I'd actually fancy Gills to give Untidy half a game, but would fear for them at City. I'm with Gemini that the 3rd round for a L2 club is about cashing in if possible. Doesn't matter who we get, there's no guarantee of getting into the next round.
Well done gills on getting to the third round lets hope you get hull, I could do with a local game, will be looking for ball 50
It would be good to stay in the Cup for a little longer (but not for too long or it will become a distraction from promotion). The other benefit is that we are seeing people like Weston, Spayne and Montrose getting games in place of loan players within a squad which is showing itself to be league 1 quality. So the best outcome would be a minnow we can beat in Round 3 followed by a big payday and exit at a Premiership ground in Round 4.
The draw is near, can't wait to find out who it is, I just hope they are premiership and at home, just wish this could happen.
The main event Pulis v Scally in the Boardroom. Supporting act Gills v Stoke on the pitch. Can we have tv coverage of the main event for those who are only able to sit in the stand?
Yeah also if you look back later and read a bit I said in the evening I put I would not mind stoke forgot about that, it would be a reunion.
