I said good call, wouldve worked as long as GIacc wast too tired

Who was playing on the RW at the end, when AJ went off ? i expected Larrson to be there, and Giacc in the middle but that didnt seem to happen. Seb is not a CM.

He was mate, nut he ran himself into the ground for the cause and was a massive improvement over the Liverpool game. He should be fully fit by the time we play Swansea and if I was manager he'd have the captains armband back from O'Shea, he earned it on yesterdays performance. He was one of the major reasons that Rooney was kept pretty quiet.

I've slated him in the past cos of his recklessness, but if he can focus himself like he did yesterday then he will be massive for us this season.

I agree with virtually everything you say.

My only problem is that players, like Cattermole, should apply themselves to the club & supporters, not just a manager they prefer.

I can't remember a time when I liked the players less tbh and don't trust any of them.

I remember a time when we thought 'Bards' was 'one of us'.

Fully agree mate. They should be playing for their own pride, not just when they are trying to impress a new regime, or potential new regime. The reason we are in this ****ing mess is a lack of consistency, look at Sess, more bad or average games than good ones.

I agree totally although not based on last night. He did what everyone wanted him yo at the start of the game and dropped 2 players who needed dropping. Ji looked a far better player than under Do Canio(and, Let's be honest, he replaced Johnson who didn't exactly look like a player vying fir international call up) but I agreeI don't want Ball in charge. There was someone On talksport last night saying get Reid in as DoG and leave ball in charge. Err no thanks!!

Smug, Cattermole was told he had no future at the club by DI Canio so couldn't really apply himself as he only got half a game!

Cattermole was shown an open door by PDC and it's just pure luck we got rid of the lunatic and not the footballer we have seen make 2 fantastic comeback games in the last week.

With players like him in our team we have a chance of getting out of the utter mess di Canio had brought the club to. I struggled to think of a worse manager in my lifetime.

Decent performance (1st half) but nothing has changed football wise. Ball must revert back to his day job, and get someone in with a bit of tactical nounce. I would like Zola but don't agree with poaching.

So I understand but what's the reason for that when you analyse it?

Cattermole was injured when PDS arrived, IIRC, as was Fletcher.

Fletcher was wanted whereas Catts was 'shown the door' despite neither of them playing.

So, could it be that Catts was the most vocal of the 'senior pros' who started twisting when Di Canio arrived ....... if not then what's the reason?

Why would PDC not want to keep someone dedicated to the club and open to new ideas? Do you think Di Canio was mentally ill perhaps?

Or could it be that Catts was simply the ringleader of the Britpack' who wanted another soft touch old fool like MON?

Didn't Catts come into the reckoning as soon as he was fit?

I'd be interested to hear your views.

like some of the posters on here who wants it both ways , of course he was injured and as soon as he was fit he plays, its simple, whats hard to understand about it.
catts looks as though he is playing better than ever it was probably the wake up call which he needed and got from pdc, probably a lot too deep for some to understand it

Why would Di Canio 'freeze him out' without seeing him play, especially as he was an expensive player with great potential?

    A) Serious mental illness from the manager?

    B) Simply that Cattermole was acting the knob and causing trouble without giving the manager a chance?

As Short, who knew Cattermole well, sanctioned his sale it would appear to be the latter.

As I've said, why would he want Catts out without seeing him play especially at a time when his transfer fee would be quite low?

I agree fella, he looks way way better than Sess. Think the difference is that Sess was worldclass in his day. Giacc is just worldclass. He still needs to learn the game and language too so I think we've got much more to come. Reckon there will be plenty sniffing around in the summer. Hopefully we'll still be in the league and can push on with him by our side.

I'd care to wager Giacc will get at least 10 goals this season, possibly 15.

I'd love to see the stats on Giacc for yesterdays game, he covered some ground. Not only was he getting at them when we had the ball but also tracking back to help out the defence when we didn't have the ball. And, he's only just settling in to the EPL, wait till he's up to speed properly.

True, he probably froze out Catts because he wouldn't shave his head bald and wear a Mussolini outfit .........

Look at Mon's first 14 games and then the Italian nutjobs? We were never in danger of busting Derby Countys record under O'Neill but thanks to the worst summer in recent living memory we are now staring the infamous 15 point season squarely in the face and perhaps the 11 points from Derby County. PDC has decimated this club from top to bottom and left it in the worse state since Lawrie McMoneybags reign of terror.

Whilst MoN is still touted for top international jobs, I'd be surprised if Nutjob gets a job in the conference in the near future in the UK. He will have to go abroad for his next job. PDC is the worst post war manager in our recent history and possibly the worst ever both in stats and actually non ability.
