How about encouraging Swans fans to be cheering their own team on, instead of cheering or booing whichever superstar happens to be at the Liberty? Nobody cheered or booed Tony Pulis when Stoke were here because he is Welsh, and so it is natural to assume that Bale would be given a certain type of reception because he is a superstar, not because he is Welsh. Same thing happened with Giggsy getting applauded off by the West Stand at the Man U game. No connection to the club, Cardiff youth, most of the time didn't turn up to play for Wales and yet he still gets a special response from the West Stand.
Whether to boo or cheer an opposing player is not something that enters a normal fans head until they have directly affected their club in some way. Their nationality is irrelevant and should stay that way. If we put that energy into supporting our team, instead of directing it at opposition players, we could have much more of an effect on results.
Will you be booing or cheering or neither on Saturday Phil?
