When I read the title of the article I thought maybe Bale was being over the top, but when you read the whole thing and see that the last twice they've played against each other Bale has been injured because of an Adam challenge, you start to think Bale may have a point.

The cynic in me thinks it may be a smoke screen though. After all the criticism from Fifa over Bale not being fit for the olympics but fit enough for friendlies, maybe having him make the most of a slight knock and have 'injured' for the rest of pre-season is a convinient way of getting Fifa off their backs

Well the season is nearly upon us and already controversy abounds. Didn't see it but if it was premeditated then throw the book at him.

Quick description of the assault. Bale was running across and away from Adams. In running Bale was leading with his right leg with the ball at least 2 yards in front of him. Adams came in studs down on the ankle of the trailing left leg. There could not have been any remote suggestion that he was playing the ball but as it was a 'friendly' the ref did not produce a red card. No doubt we will hear the usual nonsense from the Authorities ' The ref saw it so there is nothing we can do '

See Bale played again yesterday.

So much for "career threatening" tackle

There is a lot of difference between a 'career threatening ' tackle and a ' career ending ' tackle. That tackle could have broken Bale's ankle, was a deliberate unnecessary tackle/assault and was calculated with no intention to play the ball. In a Premiership game it would have resulted in a red card and further action by the authorities - to do it in a friendly was unforgiveable. I wonder if Liverpool will have the neck to put him in the team when they visit Spurs.

quite right. it was a disgusting incident and totally deliberately aimed to hurt bale. not sure why adam isn't being banned for this. is it merely cos it was a friendly?
