Is bernie going to bring a full team of trauma doctors, as many have disappeared or have been jailed....?
Bahrain F1 WILL be a major world "stage" in terms of media exposure, and to think protestors in the name of HUMAN rights will USE this event to express the existence of oppression by the oligarchy against it's majority population.
SHAME on the whole of F1 who go and support the greed of the monarchy AND bernie.

You all might want to get used to looking at this when Bahrain comes round...

You must log in or register to see media

Now which F1 teams would go if it meant getting the WDC and WCC?

Protestors are still being detained, as well as 25% of the GP circuit staff has been fired or jailed.
Many healthcare professionals have been jailed or disappeared...
Now tell me... will there be a military presence at the track to ensure "peace"? and will bernie , with all his $$$ bring in top trauma surgeons to stand by in case of need...?
In retrospect, the event will be called a disastrous mess the day after the race...

I'm not sure it's not more a question of FOM having to shell out $40m not to go, which is strange considering Bahrain failed to honour the original agreement.

They must of forked out another 20 million to keep them sweet for the inconvinence etc...

I think the teams and, more importantly, their sponsors are really unwilling to go. How can Virgin compete with their ethical approach to business? OK, bad example - how can Virgin compete? would be nearer the mark. FOM must have got assurances from all the main sponsors that it's okay to go ahead, mustn't they?

FOTA have a vote and so do the sponsors union (if thats been created yet) on the matter. if not im sure we will hear about and some protest will be threatened blah blah

Yes, you're right. I'd forgotten about their votes. I wonder if it'll be anything like the England cricket team playing in South Africa under apartheid in terms of media and public outrage.
