AN's verdict on Klose and the defence - “Yes he has made a difference and that is there for all to see. He has been a good signing for us who has improved with every game,” said the City boss. “He has good experience, he is good on the ball with either foot, he can play left or right and he is a great lad to have in the changing room as well. “But what we have done is really just tweak a couple of player movements, in the sense if the ball gets worked into a certain area we make sure we have three defenders in the box at all times, rather than getting dragged into wide areas." “The main thing is when the ball comes into our box we are winning our headers, winning our tackles and the lads are covering for each other and making the right decisions. There was always a lapse in concentration that was costing us goals before but I sense a different intensity about the group at the moment.” <hitsnailonheademoticon> Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...reak_is_not_just_down_to_timm_klose_1_4463951
Not whilst RM is in the side. The last two games things have been improved/working to an extent, no point rocking the boat and potentially causing noses to be bent out of joint! Next season however, you may have a point. Lets see where we are though. If we're still PL then I fancy we'll keep hold of Mr Klose and dependant on his wishes and other signings then a fine captain he may make, if championship then he will be off at a guess, if I were any team in the bottom half I'd be eyeing him incase we get relegated and again for the possible disruption it could cause not worth the change. He brings leadership to the squad and on the pitch without the armband so stay as is. Bah!
Surely the point you're making is that the current captain isn't doing his job? I'd be quite happy to see some noses out of joint if it means we don't get relegated!
No what I'm saying is that as a unit for perhaps the first time this season the defense is doing it's job and of all the times to rock the boat, 7 games from home with RM actually playing OK might not be the most sensible decision. Afterall the last two games have been under Martins captaincy, so maybe he is doing his Job? Bah!
Or Klose is doing it for him, just not wearing the armband!!! Who gives a to55, as long as we're looking solid at the back????
I'm with the good General on this one. To suddenly make Klose captain could have disastrous effects. Would that motivate Martin when we need him most! I doubt it. Would it improve Klose's performance? I doubt it (cast your mind back to when Bassong was made captain). More importantly though - what would the other players feel about a recent signing who has played a handful of games being made captain? We've had two excellent results with the set-up as it is and now have three massive games coming. Is this really the time to tinker?
Next season though, is a different matter. If Klose is still with us probably depends on our retaining PL status, and if we do he must be very heavily considered to be skipper.
I'd agree whole heartedly with that provided no stronger candidate comes in or that he actually wants the captaincy? Bah!
