Villas-Boas confirmed Benoit Assou-Ekotto could be missing for a month with a knee problem after Kyle Naughton made an impressive first Premier League start for Spurs at left-back. “Benoit has a small fragment in his knee that makes it swell a lot,” Villas-Boas said. “He has played through pain in the last couple of games. His knee may have to be washed out and if that does happen we are looking at a four-week absence.” Taken from yesterdays Evening Standard.
He tends to be the authority on these things (although Byrne playing LB in the U21 match yesterday pretty much confirms we're retooling him for that position)
