Kroenke has made a bid to buy out the remaining shares in the club from Alisher Usmanov. Would set the valuation of the club at 1.8 bn. The offer has been accepted. https://news.arseblog.com/2018/08/b...twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter
Not great news, not sure what he can bring to the club to be honest. Also why has Usmanov suddenly decided to sell up? Some key things to look out for: Kroenke will be raising the capital to take control of the club with £45m of his own money and borrowing £557m, which he says will not be against the club. "The offer is not being funded by way of any debt finance (bank loans, payment in kind loans or other debt or quasi debt interest bearing obligations) for which the payment of interest on, repayment of, or security for any liability (contingent or otherwise) will depend on the business of Arsenal," said the statement. From AST: "Stan Kroenke taking the club private will see the end of supporters owning shares in Arsenal and their role upholding custodianship values," said an AST statement. AST added that by becoming the 100% owner, Kroenke would be able to take "detrimental actions" such as paying "management fees and dividends without any check or balance". It added: "The AST is also extremely concerned to note that this purchase is being funded by a loan. "The AST is wholly against this takeover which marks a very sad day for Arsenal football club." It is concerning that the guy is only putting in £45m of his own money and then borrowing the rest. So he's basically borrowing over 90% of the money!?!? It's a frigging joke. How the hell are we going to benefit from this? Also it's a bit of a coincidence that this was done with so much dust still up in the air with Wenger's departure, new manager and pre-season. Very fishy indeed.
Not happy about Kronke getting full control of the club. He's shown very little ambition about investing in the squad and he's barely even been on the scene since he became the majority shareholder. My other concern now is that Usmanov will link up with Moshiri at Everton and pump his wealth into them instead.
I can only imagine that he's completely ****ed off with Arsenal atm after being stifled for the last decade. Some talk today of Usmaov moving to the boardroom art Everton so that Moshiri can take full control https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6966102/alisher-usmanov-everton-arsenal-stan-kroenke/
