Can you imagine though, the huge amount of fans, that would be visiting various non league grounds, as the league we'd have to start from, would be pretty local, to say the least?

Not much in it, for coach trip away day profiteers.

Sorry, shouldn't laugh but I just had an image of your first game with 15,000 fans on one side and two men and a dog on the other.

I don't know how it works, but Wimbledon managed a start from scratch and they never had any support.

Imagine the police bill, and the poor doctors that would have to stitch up the fans of Bromley or Kettering after your lot had visited town.

    What a lovely thought.

Would not bother wasting your time PM, as Beddy would say, 99% of his 55 posts are about Pompey. I am sure there are some people in Pompeyville that thinks all of us lot are terrible people as well, in a sense I don't really blame them because it just comes from the culture of us and them. I'd like to think that the average Saints/Pompey not606er is an alright bloke/lady capable of sensible posting with a bit of humour thrown in, it's better that way.

I've just taken ten minutes out to list down all the Pompey fans I know and have known and they include teachers, university lecturers, accountants, hoteliers, managers, trades unionists, plumbers, secretaries, taxi drivers, shopkeepers, performers, art dealers and several business owners. They have been to my home and I have been to theirs. We have eaten in restaurants together and we've had a good old knees up in a pub. They are no different to me or any of my other friends including the fact that they love their football club as much as I love mine. None has ever sworn at me or punched me on the nose or been rude to the very lovely Mrs Godders. Also let us be honest PompeyMeowth is a perfect gentleman as are most of his fellow posters on here. I wish them no ill whatsoever nor would they I hope wish me any evil.

I have also met some Pompey fans that I have chosen to avoid just as I have met some Saints fans I would have nothing to do with.

So as far as Pompey is concerned I want the football club to survive for all the decent fans. I couldn't give two hoots about the rabble of either club they don't matter.

My friends matter to me or else friendship is nothing.

Sadly I can't use the ignore key for obvious reasons, Q. (Hey 007!)

If I could, the utopia you describe in your last sentence, would be mine for the reading.

    Heavy sigh.

I'm going to print that and put it in my Pokémon scrapbook!

I might print some other, more alternative extracts too, for use elsewhere, in a household emergency.

Anyway, I'm going to have a hot beverage and knock out some zzz's

    Stay smooth everyone.

Never have I stated that ALL of Portsmouths fans are hooligans, in the same way that Millwalls majority of fans are not hooligans. But the percentage is substantial in both cases. Their hooligan count is particularly higher than normal clubs, and the behaviour of Pompey fans in the ground towards our players in December shows how animalistic a large amount of their fans are (based on those actions).

That's the thing... there is statistics and stone cold proof that Portsmouth is a hooligan club, and by god if you were there when they were jeering during the minutes silence for Ted Bates (and remember it still), you wouldn't want them to survive...

they didn't care about us when we were going to the wall and didn't discuss coming down to SMS to help us out (rather, they bragged about how much money they had and went in the Burnley end to cause trouble when we went down). They didn't care... so why are we giving them the time of day?

There are a large amount of Pompey fans who wouldn't piss on a Saints fan if they were on fire... don't be nice back because you won't get anywhere.

What a load of rubbish, if you're going to make wild claims like that, at least have some statistics to back it up, otherwise people may be inclined to think your bias is influencing your view.

For example these stats from the Home Office would suggest that your assertion may be due to bias.

Total banning orders (at the end of last season)

    Portsmouth 32
    Southampton 67

Despite yours being over double ours, we're both still substantially below Cardiff City (143) but much higher than Watford (4)

OK, here are some extracts, that show why we don't want you on our board any more, they also contradict what you are now trying to claim, that it's all reasoned debate and we are all picking on you.

"They represent hooliganism... just look at the south coast derby, look at the way they acted... animals, total animals, the fact that they have the YOUNGEST HOOLIGAN in England, and the second youngest too!"

"a hooligan club with hooligan fans, with crooks running the show and a club that show no compassion to us at all, they hate us for christs sake".

"Beating cardiff wouldn't have changed the fact that it's a hooligan club... vile animals, I've never met a pompey fan that isn't one".

"Praising Portsmouth would be like saying ''Hitler went a little too far, show some compassion... you hate filled jew who's parents were murdered in Auschwitz''

yes, Portsmouth = the nazi germany of football... represents everything bad about football, cheating, hooligans".

This ones about Darlington which just goes to show it's not just us.

"Who cares? they're lower league scum... a nothing club with nothing fans, let em die... seriously, why should we care about them?!"

I don't think I need to add any more to this, speaks volumes for itself, other than to say I do actually feel sorry for you, in a strange sort of way.

As far as posters are concerned, if we didn't have any bad ones, we would not appreciate the good ones. In every case, the use of of personal abuse against another poster, and the use of Godwins Law, almost inevitably means that the poster has lost the plot and subsequently the argument, not to mention the respect of other posters. I may be cheeky, I may try to be a bit arty, I may be misunderstood, but never vindictive and never personal to any individual, I don't get any enjoyment from doing that so it is pointless.

Well you've made me laugh out loud, more than once Don, so you must be doing something right.

Godwin's law. I had to look that one up, but it holds water, sad to say.

Of all things possible, it could only be a frozen pitch, after what's happened this week.

    Tch, Pompey eh?

    I'm part Eskimo.
