Yeh but he's a journeyman - will just chuck another transfer request in and end up getting another move to a lower championship club. Or he'll come down with Derby and do exactly what he's done with Rotherham, score a load of goals in League One and repeat.
I thought that but in typical Sunderland fashion he would probably find his shooting boots and fire them to the title.
Not sure, last I heard the people interested in taking them over had pulled out so no idea if they are allowed to buy anyone.
This was today so perhaps it's gone through. A consortium led by former Derby County owner Andy Appleby are reportedly 'ready' to take over the club 'as quickly as the administrators will allow'. Appleby first purchased the Rams back in 2008, halfway through the doomed 2007-08 Premier League season, and solidified Derby back in the Championship after appointing Nigel Clough.
Interesting, I'm sure it was their last game on tv not so long ago where the commentator said someone had walked away from a takeover. This might be a new group.
The BBC say he’s out of contract in the summer. If he isn’t going to sign a new deal and doesn’t want to be there you might as well cash in now.
This is the kind of bad news that's always affected us in the past ... ... think Wyke, Bent, Maja, Marco, SKP, etc to varying degrees. You grit your teeth, and pretend it doesn't really matter, but you really know it'll affect the other players and the club. Great when Rotherham, Ipswich, Wigan, etc. are suffering instead of us
