For what it's worth, I think this sort of tapping up is probably fairly common. I reckon most of the top clubs have unofficial "scouts" trying to muscle in on moves that are already in progress to try and disrupt it or get players to request moves to their club. Fortunately this time Arsenal's effort didn't work
