He was around somewhere. He even took those photos they take before the start of the season, and he turned up looking like a hostage victim.
I don't know how much you can read into pictures, but I have to say that RVP looks pretty settled and happy with his team mates, and vice versa. There doesn't look like there's any tension or indication that RVP doesn't want to be there. Unlike Fabregas who's body language clearly indicated that he was there under duress. Maybe RVP is playing it cool, or maybe he's had a change of heart.
It doesn't matter if you can justify Rooney's fee in your eyes, the facts are that Fergie said it was "amazing" that a club could pay that much for a 19 year old when he spent a similar amount on an 18 year old 8 years ago. No ifs not buts, he's a hypocrite.
Moura has a similar number of caps for a better international side in one of their most competitive positions. You can reason it how you want but £30mill for a player of that age is a risk no matter who it is. Just look at Owen, he was well established as one of the Premier League's best players by the time he was 20 yet his career petered out through injuries. The problem is SAF is pretending that he's not been a part of the problem with young players going for exorbitant fees. United have continually set precedents and records for transfer fees so it's a bit rich to be taking issue with another team for doing so, it's not United's divine right to decide how much a player should be worth. If this is how SAF and United fans react to missing out on two players in a transfer window they should realise how it is for the rest of us who regularly find teams outbidding us. Oh and [Insert something about RVP]. Sorry mods
Brazil have been playing joke teams for a while so his caps were very much meaningless for the most part. Rooney led the line at a major international tournament, probably the last one england performed at to any level. Im not getting into it here as I have been doing all day, thats just one of the many massive differences. If you want to discuss it then come the liverpool board if they let you. As for RVP, he will be a United player before 31/8/12
So maybe I'm being stupid here... Has VP actually said he wants to leave? The media are reporting it likes he's pushing for a lifeboat on a sinking ship but all I've heard is that he doesn't want to extend his stay because he disagrees with the way we run the club. I disagree with the way we have been running the club with regards to the transfer market and selling our best players to cheaply, presumably this is what VP is upset about. If he hasn't asked to leave isn't selling him, because he won't stay longer sort of agreeing with him? In the eight years we've had him he's played 194 games (sorry I've got that from wiki and will happily be corrected). That's just over 24 a season and whilst he has always looked pretty good at finishing he has never truly hit the form he did last season before. If we keep him and he gets injured or doesn't perform as well next season is he going to get the large salary at a big club based one 1 brilliant season? There is no way he can sulk. It will just reduce his pay when he moves on. The situation is crying out for Arsenal to just put there fingers in their ears and just keep repeating the word no!
Wayne Rooney was bought by Ferguson as a teenager. It doesn't matter how many caps he had Rooney was still a teenager
Would be terrible business if he went to United. If you have to sell make sure they go abroad. It will become bitter - like us with that tosser at Chelsea.
Maybe Arsenal fans are more mature? Unlikely. No fans are mature in these sorts of things Bitter would be keeping the player against his will in order to make some silly stand. Fact is the Arsenal board are not Arsenal fans so they wont care where he goes aslong as they get a good bit for him.
If he wants to leave theres not much you can do bar be arseholes about it. hes given you plenty, worked really hard and at times kept you in the top 4. Its like locking the door and saying you aint getting out.
Nonsense. As said before it's our contractual right. He signed that contract and he knows what it meant. He gave us plenty? At best, he had 2 very good seasons out of 8. Also by your logic, were Man Utd being arseholes when they made Ronaldo stay for one more year before selling him to Real Madrid?
Can you Mancs and Scousers please play nicely on our board ? If you want to slag each other off, **** off and do it somewhere else pretty please . .
