To be fair that's good diet advice for everyone, if their not Keto then moderate amounts of oats, sweet potatoes and brown rice could make up the carbs and your on to a winner.

How has this turned from a manly discussion on the merits of bacon, to some womanlikegayboy discussion on diet?

In my experience which included 15 years of proper vegetarianism, about 10% of veggies are veggie, the rest are attention seeking twats who have weak moments.

Its a **** load easier these days than it used to be. The closest you could get to fake meat was TVP, which was akin to kitty litter.

Don't get me started on vegans. Leather ****ing shoes? **** off. The percentage of proper vegans is probably even less than veggies.

I love all these worries about saturated fat, salt, sugar etc

My grandfather lived to be over 100 & most of his working life took bread & dripping sandwiches with a liberal amount of salt for lunch....

Vegetables were always boiled within an inch of their lives & my nan used to add sugar to the peas

They would have a roast or hot meal almost every night & it would be good red meat.....stews were made with shin beef

Weekends were always started with a full English breakfast inc a couple of eggs, bacon, sausage & fried bread.....all again fried in beef dripping

Sunday lunch would always be a Sunday roast with all the trimmings

There is a good trend in there lots of fat and meat not much refined sugar. sugar is the enemy, fat will literally protect you. Think about the Inuit diet. There's nothing wrong with salt either.

The American comedian, George Burns, who lived to be 100 years old, was asked about the secrets of his vigor, prosperity, and longevity.
He answered, at the ripe old age of 86 : “Attitude. If you have a problem getting a twenty-two year-old girl, get a twenty-four-year-old."

He also said: "It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth."

    and

" Too bad the only people who know how to run the country are busy driving cabs and cutting hair."

    He smoked cigars, not bacon
