back the manager

Plus City are in the fortunate position of being able to ask how much they have to pay the club and the player to make the move happen and then just make it so!

True. **** loads of money plus only needing squad players to improve = much easier to succeed in preseason than having a limited budget and needing world class players to improve.

Rumours in the media that Fabregas only made his undying pledge of loyalty to Barca after we failed to meet their asking price...

Hmmmmm. His silence during the whole episode was interesting. After all he was at his dream club and you'd have imagined he'd would have been busting a gut to dampen down the press speculation if he was truly happy. I suspect Cesc could be on the move maybe next season if he doesn't feature as a regular this time around.

or possibly since the new manager gave him assurances of his position at the club<whistle>

Perhaps. But then his new manager gave him public assurances of his importance to the team a week or so before Cesc's declaration of Barca love in the press. Like Constcrepe said, he could have dampened the speculation at any time before negotiations broke down between Barca and Utd, but chose to wait until after our third bid had been submitted and rejected.

I wonder if we'll try and go back for him with a late bid after the season starts if he's not getting picked ahead of Xavi and Iniesta, and if we don't get Modric or another.

The new manager I recall on the day of the press conference when he was officially and publicly announced as the new manager; said Cesc was going nowhere. Then about 1 week later said he didn't want Cesc to go but the final decision was down to the player. Something wasn't right behind the scenes and I believe things still aren't right.

Plus its world cup year as well.

he'll want to play every game not sit on the bench at Barcelona every week.

Despite their wealth of talent, I'd expect Cesc's Spanish squad place is not in doubt even when not regularly featuring for Barcelona. That however could change depending on the Spanish coach.

I'll admit i didn't want Moyes as our manager BUT he's proved me wrong, he acted with class yesterday paying tribute to Fergie, dedicating the win to him.

a couple of weeks ago when we lost to West Brom, some of our '' fans'' wanted Moyes out, its going to be like this every time we lose this season, its typical modern day football, every time a team lose, the fans want the manager out, its sad and pathetic

Didnt take much for Moyes to win you over did it!!
You didnt want him as manager, and he wins 1 game in the community shield and you did a total 180!!
Thats just as thickle as those people who wanted him out after just 1 loss to West Brom.
