We started really well, Millwall stood off us a bit, and we managed to get the ball going and had a couple of attacks. We scored and relaxed. We were playing as if they were still standing off but they were now chasing everything and intercepting a lot of passes/headers. We just about managed to hold out to half-time thankfully, and we were better in the 2nd. When De Ridder came on we were more dangerous. Schneiderlin was at times left alone by Hammond but when Do Prado moved central and Sharp came on there was a bit of surprise that Guly hadn't been subbed. Our pressure kept building and ultimately Millwall's defensive discipline went AWOL and bam, 2 penalties. We were a bit more direct than normal as when we tried to pass Millwall were all over us. We didn't deserve to win, but the pressure from about the 65th minute onwards earnt us it, although they did hit us on the break a lot. My Report is now up if you want to read some more, I couldn't type much more here! http://www.itsroundanditswhite.co.u...wall-2-3-southampton-saints-fans-perspective/
Was his brother called Brian? Please no more snail references. Did you know Magic Roundabout was originally a French creation?
Agree with this completely. I thought we played terrible. Took any opportunity to get the ball in the air, even when passing 10 yards to each other. I thought Fox had an awful game, literally playing long ball after long ball to no one. Absolute doom and gloom until 85 minutes when King Rick steps up as always, we owe the guy everything! On Chaplow, did anyone see his Tweets before the game? Perhaps this is why he was so appalling. "Love it when my hotel room is across the road from a nightclub, it's really quiet! #not" and Wowzers, might Aswell put my bed on the pavement! #toomanysirens
The original thread was written shortly after yesterday's game. You published yours at 1am! How f***ing distracted were you lol... Anyway who cares! 3 points! COYR!
If you really want to know... I got in at 9pm, I then got called away to help out with something. I had some dinner and had a chat with the family over dinner. By this time it was about 22:15. Some of the topics involved Muamba, the government and also religion and Chinese culture. I then spent 2 hours watching some TV with the family before starting to write my article for the website and start the thread I intended to start much earlier in the early hours. Is that okay by you now I have explained myself?
Adkins said that one was player error, then added,'And they know who they are.' Only time I thought of Adkins as scary...that's them on the naughty step.
As far as I'm aware the OP had already put that edit in before anyone posted. So I don't see the problem here other than nobheads crying and reaching for the tissues over a second ratings thread. OP already acknowledged that and apologized so there should be no problem but as usually the whiners have arrived on the scene
Well was at the game and a poor team performance I thought. Started off good and thought we were in for a repeat of the Watford away game which I was also at. Then Millwall scored from their first meaningful attack, unlucky for Fonte and Saints confidence appeared to be shaken. Schneiderlin and Lallana then appeared to go missing, Chaplow wasn't there in the first place and it was left to Guly yes the hated (by some but not by me) Guly to try and stem the tide. Make no mistake, we were lucky to reach HT at 1-2 This is when the strength of our bench came into play and at the start of the second half, every time de Ridder got the ball, he looked dangerous and the game became end to end. Sharp looked up for it and lively when he came on and I was honestly thinking if we could get one, we could get another one here and lo and behold, the opportunities arrived and were greedily taken by a nerveless Lambert. Team deserves great credit for keeping going when around half of them were having an off day but too many aimless passes Thought NA got all his subs exactly right on the day and it will be interesting to see how he approaches the game on Tues at Hull as he intimated he got the team preparation (ie journey timings) wrong for the Leeds away game. That's 2 successive poor away performances but 6 points out of 6 and it's points that matter at this stage of the season - makes you wonder what will happen when we play well COYS
i thought fox was immense against barnsley, but have to agree he had a poor game yesterday and was at fault for the first goal, he drifted out of position and lost his runner. the second millwall goal was also due to poor defending, we had about 3 chances to clear that corner and messed it up. HOWEVER it was a below par team performance so it's not really fair to single anyone out. can't argue with 3 points.
