Here's a point though.
Sign a player from a foreign team for £40M+ in January and it's all good yet asign a player from a fellow English team for £6M+ in January and it's not due to an outdated and antiquated rule.
The reason I say 'outdated and antiquated' is that wasn't the 'cup tied' rule brought in to stop teams just buying a cup winning side when they knew they were in a final? That being the case the fact that we now have a transfer window that closes before the fifth round even takes place surly makes it pointless?
